Housing, obsevatories (like really for real… its a void land with stars everwhere.) towers, portal emplacements that aren’t just sitting there floating with an edifice holding them, spreading out to at least the third island!
So much could have been done to expand and show culture and story with void elves already.
Homogenization has been a bad thing for WoW for as long as its existed. Blizzard failing to capitalize on the storytelling potential of their various cultures, races, ethnicities and different uses and plays on classes within each group has been a major problem.
One I hope they fix.
So so many possibilities and Blizzard gave us four tents.

Aren’t we still a baby race though? Wouldn’t most of our culture still resemble Belf culture?
I really don’t get the weird illusions people have that they’re going to make an expansion hub for one race.
They’re not faction locking Bel’ameth in TWW and they’re not faction locking revamped Silvermoon; anyone who thinks otherwise is coping for faction nonsense.
They’re absolutely not redoing Ashran’s split camps or (ew) BFA
Need MOAR faction and LESS everything else

Factions are and have always been a stupid narrative dead end that made 0 sense after the battle of Hyjal.

Belameth is nothing on par with Silvermoon. They had already made Silvermoon a questing hub before. They likely will do it the same way in Midnight.

Life and the basis of the entire structure is faction

Factions are a core thread in the game, and I wish people that didn’t like them would find a factionless game to play instead of trying to ruin this one.
Even in the player numbers chart they shared at GDC showed that the versions of the game that have factions very much in place did best. So maybe the no factions crowd has no idea what they are talking about.

Sorry the factions have already nearly ruined the game.
The last faction war expansion would have killed it without classic release.
The idea that it’s the fault of people who aren’t neck deep in the faction identity stuff for making the game bad is silly. The devs spent decades catering to this nonsense and all it did was make everything more garbage.
tl;dr I’ve already won at this point. I guarantee as soon as they figure out how to make open world and queues cross faction without making the game blow up all gameplay will be 100% cross faction.

No a bad story nearly ruined the game.
Classic has factions intact.
Not making the game bad. Just wanting to ruin the game for your whims. Go find something more to your liking.
Cross faction is one thing. They will allow cross-grouping. Removing the barrier entirely is a different thing.

Classic has factions virtually irrelevant to the story and literally starts doing the “let’s unite” thing WC3 already did by the time Ahn’Qiraj kicks in
There doesn’t have to be a big faction war for factions to be in place. In Classic I have my own leveling areas, and you have your’s. We can’t visit each others cities. People playing Classic seem quite fine with that. To the point have having higher player numbers.

And yet they clearly realized that the factions did little other than encourage toxicity. I guess it helps that some people started yelling at the devs instead of at other players who have 0 power over how the gameplay goes.
(Incidentally: I have exactly 0 power over how the gameplay goes, I can simply observe how things are moving, and take a certain satisfaction of the fact that my fully cross faction warband is now endorsed by a dev team that is finally not dedicated to getting people to yell at each other like morons over team jerseys)
Well for one one of the things in the BFA post-mortem was that “they went too far”
This is absolutely a reaction to devs getting yelled at because most of this playerbase was too faction obsessed to do this over Theramore and Dalaran during mists, instead prefering to yell at each other.
With the characters in the story. That doesn’t have to do with the factions being little other than encouraging toxicity.

Who can forget the great faction storytelling like “horde and alliance have an air war over who gets to take credit for ICC”
(Hope you’re ready for the all-elven council because neither the nelf nor the belf capital are leaving neutralcraft)
The game never really had strong storytelling. The core thread of the game doesn’t need torn apart because of that. It just needs better storytelling.
