Hey all.
I’m a returning player - this is my first time back since BC and I’ve been having a blast in PvP and heroics from iLvL 150-190, but now I’ve hit a wall and I’m really frustrated. I’m at the bottom of DPS charts in every run of Castle Nathria and any mythic +3 and onward. I feel like I’ve read every guide and watched every video, and nothing has changed.
Here are my current stats-
iLvL 194 with all gear enchanted and socketed where available
Intellect: 1,337 CS: 15% Haste: 9% Mastery: 19% Versatility: 13%
I have Wowhead and Icy vein’s recommended talent tree.
Spells used and damage done during fight with Valinor-
Starsurge- 85.2K (half that of a 189 boomkin)
Wrath- 56.9K
Starfire- 46.1K
Moonfire- 12.2K
Shooting stars- 11.7K
Sunfire- 5.9K
My rotation is generally the following-
Moonfire, sunfire, then x2 wrath or starfire (single or multi) to enter eclipse- drain AP with starsurge or star fall (single or multi), refresh dots, rinse and repeat and Convoke + Celestial Alignment when appropriate
I feel like I am doing everything exactly as I should be, so there must be something glaringly obvious that I’m missing. I’m feeling so frustrated - I got called out in a raid last night for not being able to pump enough DPS and at this point I’m wondering if I should just take up resto.
Anything you guys can recommend or advise me on?

What legendary are you running?
You should be smashing it as boomy, both in raids and dungeons.
You’re missing something. Your starsurge damage looks reaalllyy low.
Easiest way to diagnose is sim your character on raidbots. 3mins, no buffs, patchwork, 1 target.
Then go sit at a boss target dummy and don’t leave until you can match your sim numbers by hitting it for 3mins.
To find out where you’re going wrong, go into the “full html report” of your sim. It’ll tell you how much % of your damage should be coming from each ability. E.g if it says 30% of your damage should be coming from starsurge, but yours is only 20%, you know there’s an issue there.
You can also find out your optimal openers, etc, by looking at sims, under sample sequence table in the html report. It’s a little buried. I suspect you’re massively messing up the opener with such low starsurge damage.
People are going to suggest linking logs and things, but this will likely be a much more longwinded way to find the issues. You can find your own rotational issues in 5 minutes by looking at your sims + what you can do on a dummy.

I’m using Oath of the Elder Druid on bracers because I haven’t had a chance to get BoaT yet unfortunately. 
Balance of All Things is an extremely powerful Legendary. So powerful it got nerfed and is probably still the best one. Mastery is a better stat for Balance Druids. The conduit Fury of the Skies is also quite good.
With Venthyr, Theotar has a Mastery buff called Soothing Shade. A dredger just pops out of nowhere with a parasole. Stand in the shade for a 525 Mastery buff for 12 seconds. Anyway, I can hit 45% damage with 1135 Mastery.
Starsurge and Starfall is considered both Nature and Arcane damage. Mastery will buff your AP spenders big time. Balance of All things Legendary gives you a big boost to Critical Strikes for the first 5 seconds into an Eclipse. If you time it right, you can get some big DPS within the first 3 seconds of your Eclipse.

Looking at the log of your N CN (destroyer since you lived through that), you definitely have rotation issues. You have long periods of down time where you aren’t casting anything at all, you dont maintain dot uptime on boss, you are casting starsurge outside of eclipses. for some reason you dont use CA on pull. at one point you switched to cat form and started meleeing lol.
Your eclipse uptime is also abysmal, during that fight you spent 28.51% in solar and 29.41% in lunar. Looking at my recent kill i was 46.3% solar and 43.3% lunar. Your should be trying to get into eclipse, spend AP to empower it and cast as many spells in eclipses as possible.
Quick and dirty: maintain dots, get into eclipse, dump AP on starsurge to empower filler spell (wrath/starfire), pool AP for dump in beginning of next eclipse. Don’t cap AP. Use CDs. Don’t cast starsurge outside of eclipse.
