I've got to ask the roleplayers here

Montaine as a blood elf was just a soldier with family problems.

Montaine as a draenei I haven’t figured out yet because I’m not as familiar with draenei RP as I am blood elf but I’ll probably stick to a similar line. Soldier with dead or missing family sounds good to me.

I had one character that I completely ignored her class (warlock) entirely. She was a goblin engineer that made toys on the side that exploded. She was hilarious to RP!

I have other characters that just kind of do their thing - surviving this endless war between the Horde and Alliance. Some of them are fighters, some of them are just regular people living their lives, but none of them are central characters to the plot of the game we play. I don’t care if someone RPs like that as long as they don’t invalidate my own stories I’ve come up with over many years.

I honestly have never taken the quests or the role of hero as a part of my RP simply because that’d mean there were too many heroes in my mind. My favorite is typically some cheeky little mercenary who might get into some trouble for saying the wrong thing or biting off more than they can chew. Not interested in being the champion of azeroth.

Actually, I find that I am closer to my own truth by playing an anti-hero. A brutal weapon that kills indiscriminately but may find purpose by (unintentionally?) helping “The Cause” she claims to care little about.
