I suppose. It does feel like it would require him to reach the same levels of absorbed energy in order to emit something like that again, though. We’ll have to wait and see.

Summary
Mechagodzilla, that would be a good reason for a supernova level pulse like that not to work since it can be armored against those levels of radiation. If they plan to bring him into the monsterverse, honestly, anything goes at that point. The toy leak from a year ago does seem to suggest he’s in it, though. When you mentioned that I had to look it up because I recall it being a thing.

Like if you HAD to kill one off in a fight for whatever reason I’d expect Godzilla to prevail because literally everything stated above, there’s also the matter of him having backup in the form of Mothra provided she’s not napping in an egg, given that their species have a symbiotic relationship. So when things get tough G man can shoot Moth Mom a text asking her to come pick him up.
As far as the actual upcoming movie? I expect them to be evenly matched and moreover I WANT them to. Of the two Godzilla is undoubtedly my favorite but Kong punched the everloving crap out of him in the trailer and I want more of that. I want Kong to start picking up cars and chuck them at Godzilla’s head.
I actually have a theory that the whole reason it took people to find Skull Island normally was because the fog around it was caused by Mothra who basically made it into a Titan Nursery for Kong.
I imagine that if Godzilla is -King- of the Monsters and Mothra was -Queen- they did have some hands in this. There is a novel where Kong supposedly hears Godzilla swimming around the island, so it stands to reason Godzilla might’ve been doing check ups to make sure the Pantheon is all fine.
I think Godzilla has gotten too much screen time when there’s so many other monsters that are part of the franchise but the writers don’t seem to want to do anything with them. Ideally he should pay reparations to the King Kong franchise for the amount of damage he’s done to Skull Island.
God I can’t wait for the impending Tyranny of Radioactive Experiments sequel they’ve been hinting at, we really need to take some folks expectations down a peg.
Especially since in context of BvS, Gamera would be Wonder Woman in this case and she was the only saving grace of that entire film. (We will not be discussing Wonder Woman 84 because it will make me sad)

Neither person in that particular relationship is exactly coming out smelling like roses. Also in the interest of unbiased fairness, I’d just like to point out one has had eight movies since and one has had four and a miniseries.
Lads we also have to remember who Toho stated won last time. Logistically speaking of course there isn’t to be one who gets demolished, since Toho is very fond of both Godzilla and Kong.
However you could also make the case that Kong would have the higher likelihood of winning simply because they don’t need permission to use him for upcoming movies, whereas if Toho pulled Godzilla they would be dead in the water. Toho seems pretty happy with the monsterverse though so it’s all hypothetical.
I assume you are referring to 1998 Godzilla, which is in fact, not Godzilla. In the movie he was called Godzilla cause a Japanese sailor saw it and thought it was him but he or rather, she , was a separate monster that Toho brand as “Zilla”.
The surviving egg in Maddison Square garden at the end of the film that hatches, grows up into another Zilla, male. and later in Godzilla Final Wars, is used by Aliens to fight Godzilla, who kills it in a single blast.
