WoW, is toxic too. It’s time for Blizzard to remove the social infrastructure. This game is a platform for some of the worst social behavior.

You want them to remove the last vestiges of a multiplayer game having any sort of social interaction? That other people with there own lives, opinions, loves, hates or reasons exist?

Guilds are basically private messaging services, and we all know extremism flourishes in WhatsApp groups.
Trade chat is… well… we all know what trade chat is.
The forums are a breeding ground for bigoted views and filled with daily dogwhistles.
All sounds pretty damning. And yet, it is in all these moments of personal connection that we actually find the very best moments in WoW.
Take them away, and you take away the very reason to play. On a broader scale, Facebook and Twitter and the other social networks, are basically the internet for a lot of people. Killing social isn’t going to help anyone, and would just leads to less enriched existence for most people.
No thanks, let’s moderate the social instead of removing it.

Toxicity is directly proportional to the thickness of ones skin.
There is no utopia out there where everyone is kind - sometimes people are having a bad day, sometimes they’re just jerks. No matter what, you can’t let it bother you. Find the folks you get along with and ignore the ones you don’t. It’s that simple. You’re hurting yourself by seeing negativity everywhere, the key is to not give it any weight and keep looking for the awesome peeps. If you dismantle social infrastructure you’re missing out on making those great connections.

I predict that Social Media will eventually lead to the downfall of Western Civilization. The Internet was a great idea for bringing the masses together, but it practice, it has only ripped us apart.

While social media has ramifications to our health and well being it won’t be our downfall. If anything it will assist with disturbance/revolution when the economics fail western society. And by fail I don’t mean the 2008 failure, I mean the oncoming collapse.
