It's time for transmog fees to go

I haven’t paid a repair bill in over a year…

Master’s Hammer is overpowered!

This is actually true, you did change my opinion on the subject.

This is the most Based forum post ever

#imprison the transmog.

Fair point. Then I’ll amend to say the permanent augmentation runes that you mentioned here:

And?

Why?

And here’s the real question we should be asking: Why should there be one or more gold sinks in a video game at all?

… are you purposely acting obtuse? How does it not relate??

Gold sink needs to exist. So it either moves from one place to another or gold acquisition needs nerfed again.

What you just said makes no sense.

Transmog Fees are like paying taxes

The same thing that happens today? People use gold for crafting, tipping, gambling, trivia, random stuff on ah.

The entire idea of WoW having some kind of real ‘economy’ has always struck me as dumb, even more so with the advent of the Token.

There is no ‘economy’. Why? Because in the real world, currency is backed by something. There is a finite amount of it.

But in WoW? Gold is literally created every time you kill something. Gold is literally infinite. There will never be a day when you kill something and the game goes “Sorry, all out of gold. We mined it all”.

I don’t mind paying for them so much, and I’m one of those people who mogs a new piece of gear ASAP after I get it. The only thing that bugs me is I had been looking at saved mogs the other day so when I opened to change the new bracers I just got, I accidentally mogged to an entirely different outfit and then had to switch to the original I initially wanted.

Totally my fault, yes absolutely, but still felt bad wasting almost 1400g on a silly mistake.

Speaking on 1400g accidents, applying weapon appearances and illusions have always been extra tmog fees for most of my characters. Because they don’t apply properly the first time.

Roleplayer perspective, tmog fees are doubly stupid and outdated. I’ve done a lot to wiggle around former restrictions until they eventually got loosened, which has meant playing multiple characters on one toon for some past roleplay scenes/campaigns. Or making bank/bag space for clothing sets alongside my pve set/s. I don’t expect the Gamers to care about that or say anything respectful about that angle, though. :dracthyr_shrug:

I do think its silly to still pay for transmog in the time of the 0g barbershop alterations.

The game needs more gold sinks, not less. besides transmog fees are miniscule

If tmog fees are miniscule then they wouldn’t be missed if we got rid of them.

because we need more gold sinks, and having a lot of small ones is preferable to a few large ones

Nah we don’t need the weirdos changing their transmog 5 times in one dungeon. It is a service you’re paying the NPC to do; it is immersion-breaking if it is free.

Hm… Yeah. That looks like an opinion to me with no evidence or proof to suggest otherwise.

Alright, that’s a new, silly hypothetical I didn’t think anyone was capable of so I guess you get a little silver for it.

Is it not immersion-breaking that we already have free barbershop changes? That we can alter our weapons to use sha? To ride on a mount that only exists as 1 canon animal in lore? I think immersion-breaking hasn’t been thought about for the player characters in a long time.

This is a problem because?

Other game economies without gold sinks are proof. This was already explained and you just keep condescendingly dismissing it, because it doesn’t fit your bad narrative.
