As the title says… We have had over a decade to collect dragon after dragon. Heck, the reward for this past year’s anniversary was a blue version of the world ender or whatever… EVERY dragon we have should have been a customization unlock in the drake journal.
The model is there. The highland drake dragonriding mount should have just had many many full body transformations where it’s just that mount we’ve already collected. Since the highland drake is the closest to appearance to the standard drake model.
Every netherwing drake we have in our collection should have at LEAST been a skin color unlock for the Grotto Netherwing Drake.
The fact that we can’t use ANY of the dragons in our collections as a dragonriding mount is a huge L for this expansion.
I have a question about this. Is it a simple toggle? Like, “all your mounts are now dynamic, or none of them are”, or is it per mount, or how does it work?
Because I find value in both and would be really irritated if it was all or nothing.
Of course it matters! Like, sure, it’s not game breaking, but it’s still disappointing. It makes no sense why we can’t use any of the dragons we’ve collected over the years. It would be like us saying that in the upcoming Elf-Centered expansion “It’s okay, we’ll get those new customizations NEXT expansion.” Like… Why? Why would the expansion that has to do with that content not give us access to it?
They explained at BlizzCon that it’ll be a toggle for any mount that uses the new system. You just have to be on the ground and then freely toggle between dynamic and static flying.
Because a lot of the rewards were centered around the customizable mounts that you use during the DragonFlight expansion. It is even part of the story. It’s honestly not a big deal. We’ll get Dynamic flying for more mounts in TWW Prepatch.
It will be a toggle to use regular/dragon flying once everything is ready, but to create it, every mount’s animations need to be worked out separately.
That’s such a druid thing to say, and honestly, I’m only a little bit against it.
Druids are supposed to have specific shapes because Wild God Reasons, but…after Ardenweald, I don’t see why you can’t have a Speedy Speed Boi fox form. Or an otter, or a boar, or any other random form we got soul shapes for.
Be one with the beast, I guess, but I think I may draw the line at dragons.
Then again, the lore is already hecked, may as well go full craycray.
