Its sunday. 1 month until Shadowlands. Speak your fears

40% of me believes Shadowlands will be as good as Legion, meaning there will be things that make things worse but the story and art and raids will be so great that ill welcome the changes.

60% of me thinks this could quite possibly be the nail in the coffin and worst expansion ever. It will be the first expansion I dont start off as war/dk and im holding my tiny shaman hammer praying people love me for who I am on the inside, not the numbers on the outside.

I just died in ESO while typing this

You know how when you drive by a car wreck - You know you shouldn’t look/gawk but you just can’t help yourself?

This is how I feel about Shadowlands.

The A Team hasn’t let us down yet, so I have faith Shadowlands will be awesome.

I don’t believe in insulting an expansion before we’ve had the chance to try it. Forums are always doom and gloom before a new expansion anyways.

That Lovecraft was right and Cthulhu and Nyarlathotep are going to put in an appearance in October to round out this terrible year.

there was a lot of positivity about BFA. end of legion most of us were pretty happy. the only crying I saw was about the mage tower ending

I fear rejection by those I love.

Content drought and Blizzard forgetting to add in new small dungeons for non-raiders.

Legion was by far one of my favorites. I have faith that SL may be up there with it. We will just have to see.

Legion IS my favorite and its what pulled me away from FF14 and gw2 to become my main mmo again. (mists is my favorite actually but Legion is when I made every single class and played more than ever)

Personally, I’m worried that I’m right about Covenants. I don’t think Blizz made the right choice in their implementation either philosophically (we want them to be part of your character’s identity) or functionally (it’ll be fine; we can balance them). A lot of Shadowlands is built around them so if they’re done wrong it’ll tank the expansion.

Legion was probably the best expansion in terms of content, but Mists is my favorite for nostalgic reasons. Nothing, to me, has beat Pandaria’s beauty.

covenants are half the reason im playing my shaman instead of war or dk.

war and dk are normally the classes I do content with, but since BFA ive had a little one and dont have time to really play hard core, and when I do play my time is limited.

covenants add more stress on top of that so im just messing around with shaman and picking the covenant that I like rather than meta. Once its all been ironed out ill pick up war/dk again

I have no fears. This is a game.

My biggest fear is that I won’t have enough time to really enjoy myself in the first few months of Shadowlands, I am so excited and looking forward to it! I’ll be very busy from now until the New Year, so I’ll squeeze in as much play time as I can.

:four_leaf_clover:

My only fear is that one of these times when they perform their “needed” stat squishes and ability transmogrifications/reorganizations, that I will no longer be playing the character they each used to be. So far, I’ve been lucky that each expansion has redefined the character in acceptable ways, if numerically unnecessary, ways. I fear the day will come when the essence of what it is to be a protection warrior, arcane mage or [insert your favorite class role] fades away.

puh!

I fear that face of yours!

Covenants are obviously not balanced, the one week conduit lock down period seems ridiculous.

I understand blizzard wants us to have a meaningful, yet impacting choice, it is an RPG after all.

What I fail to understand on blizzards behalf, that having a meaningful choice tied to play power will always be a terrible idea, as it’s impossible to balance.

Keep meaningful / final choices in game, that’s fine. But make them cosmetic exclusive, no ties to player power at all.

That being said, if shadowlands winds up to be poop, at least I know I can fall back on TBC around 9.1/9.2

~edit: Oh and the Maw. The no mount thing seems cool thematically, but I guarantee you, give it a week and players will resent going there for day to day activities. Please, meet us in the middle with abundant flight points or toys that give temp. movement speed increases.

I’ll be maining a DK, I really, really don’t want to regret it.

I just hope they fix Chromie Time really. The rest I’m going to jump in and just go as usual.

There are no A and B teams. There is just blizzard’s team 2. The WoW team.
