It's spelled 'queue'

And while I have your attention: your != you’re

“Your” is a possessive pronoun.
“You’re” is a contraction of “you are”

I’ll leave “they’re” and “their” as an exercise for the reader.

Only half trolling… this ‘que’ thing really has been making me nuts.

It has been bothering me as well. It is only two letters different and takes less than a second to use the full word.

You need to understand that most people who misspell those words completely understand their usage. The problem is that most typing goes from mental language straight to the fingers, which then auto-type the sound.

My fingers don’t spell well.

I get the frustration (ur and u is similarly annoying to me) but it’s best to just think of it as a slang term… Most people also just default to phonetic spelling when they are not certain of the spelling.

Learn to type?

not necessarily classic related, but people who say “azurite” or “sylvanus” make my bloodboil.

But yes, its Q-U-E-U-E

If efficiency is the reason, why not just say Q?

that would have been better.

My biggest peeve is the of=have crowd. As soon as i see “would of” or any variation I immediately disengage.

Are you also telling everyone that says pally, war, hunt, lock, etc. that they need to learn to type?

Yes. That is exactly what I’m saying. You’re quick.

I’ll elaborate more. The argument is that abbreviating words is quicker than typing them out fully. My counter argument is: learning to type makes typing quicker than abbreviating words, and not knowing how to type.

From Merriam-Webster:

Is it que, queue, or q?

“One of our persistent—and more puzzling—lookups is for the word que , which is entered in our dictionary (capitalized) as an abbreviation for Quebec . Qué is also a Spanish word that means ‘what.’”
