It’s more than obvious now that the direction the game took killed WoW’s entire core and established lore into unrepairable levels of destruction. New good writers and (especially lead writer) cough will be needed.
It’s more than time for the ff14 reboot treatment. From the way you guys ruined the faction conflict in bfa, to now shadowlands. Literally every character played out in shadowlands was ruined
Garrosh- literally 1 scene and blows himself up. Not 1 Thrall interaction, not 1 core moment where he gets involved.
Draka- absolute sjw feminism nonsense. First she wasn’t a warrior like the way you guys portrayed it. That was her strength, literally durotan’s backbone, you guys could’ve played her out without making her the chosed one garbage trope, let alone kill off the maldraxxus main leader (LITERALLY BEGINNING THE ZONE). who does that? man she was cringe after that. Durotan doesn’t even get a cameo. She isn’t even herself when it comes to how she managed to talk to thrall.
Thrall- no idea why he’s down there, randomly gets doomhammer armor and losses his axe in a stupid quest. why?
Jaina- literally op because female. How cool would it have been for her to struggle down there? to learn NEW SPELLS AND MAGIC to overcome the shadowlands? nope. I’m jaina and I’m op. meanwhile thrall gets wounded the minute he steps into shadowlands. get writing guys.
Bolvar absolute garbage character. Since the cinematic, beyond useless, does nothing and makes no sense. Most of his ark is forced and let alone cringe when u added his daughter. how the f is she in shadowlands? WHO TRAVELS TO SHADOWLANDS LIKE THAT? come on man…
Anduin- Another ruined character, shoved into sylvana’s weird story and then somehow gets the most op plot armor I’ve ever seen. Imagine getting dominated by the creator of the lich king but he doesn’t kill u because plot… how is he alive???
Zooval the Jailor himself- ruined from the beginning. It’s more than clear that his story got changed over and over because the expansion flopped and all the blizz drama going off behind the scenes. His existence ruins almost every major plot in the game’s lore. That’s how bad this character is. The game needs a full retcon now thanks to this mess.
Sylvanas- lost count how many times she changes personality. Not gonna fault christie golden one bit. The way she protrayed sylvanas in the novels and books made sense until we move that character back into the game. it’s clear you guys couldn’t joint the plots with the books. Absolutely hated the way she moved towards bfa and shadowlands.
Tyrande- unnecessary new powers, she never needed nightwarrior nonsense. Plus u added more story to this cringefest that ruined not only HER story ark but ELUNE’S
Elune: even elune gets ruined in this expansion. Her not knowing the souls went to the maw makes no sense, her not getting involved until that moment makes no sense. stupid, just beyond stupid man.
Baine- he literally did nothing the entire expansion. Why send him down there if he doesn’t do anything? So much potential to see Cairne, tauren spirit realm etc. NOTHING.
The dreadlords- yea lets make em a race that some rando new char is their origin. What? seriously? why? the level of marvel comic nonsense pissed me off so much. why keep copy pasting stuff into the game. the dreadlords where a mistery, evil entity. Now their just cosmic bs spies that have multiple convenient agendas.
kelthuzad- more saturdaynight bad guy cartoon crap. So many things could’ve been done for him to feel like a scary entity again. Nope. lets make it all jokey and stupid.
the deathknights and the undead’s lore - where do they go from here? the jailor was their origin. Not only is that stupid, but now what the hell is their purpose? they’re just dead.

Arthas - So much for arthas could’ve been done but nope. blue ball anima and gtg. embarrassing, awful ideas yet again. This character shoul’dve been the main character saving sylvanas and others and emphasizing how Zooval’s story.
uther- Just cringe, I hated the kyrian zone and you made him one that needed redemption from his actions. Just no.
Helya- Another potential character just used as canon fodder. She should’ve been super important, new updated model showing her valk’yr armor. Making odyn a villain and helya having a redemption ark would’ve been awesome.
Vol’jin- Literally became an ardenweald egg, just awful. Why? All his lore led to this? I dislike you guys so much forthis for real. There’s no excuse to treat a character this bad for over 3 expansions. I can’t believe you guys took him this rout.
Pelagos - Lets shove in this character to each zone, lets show you that he has trouble with his self esteem and doubts on his purpose. Let’s not conclude that and shove him into literally the one that decides our fate after death. WTF!?!? How can we go to this conclusion? This was absolutely shoved in because he was ‘‘trans’’. Why not make a nonbinary character isn’t dead? lets start there, also why make him/her a troubled character? Why can’t they be awesome because yes?
I can keep going. The levels of disrespect and treatment of all these characters was beyond belief bad. This is not a minority of players reaction. It’s almost the entire WoW community, how many people have quit the game like this? How many players who loved the lore lost the love for this game? It’s on you guys to reboot the game. Even hearthstone has more heart that WoW does. It’s embarrassing.
This expansion at least taught us that the way the game is doesn’t work for the future. In almost every way shape and form. From game features, to how it’s played, to how the story ‘’ unfolded’’ in game, to how to introduce new characters. It’s time. WoW as we knew it is dead, it’s something we have to accept in order to try anew and amend such a horrible taste of ideas crammed up into the game. WoW2 couldn’t come any sooner but, it’s better off if we reboot/retcon almost entirely BFA/SL.
