This is effectively the same as vicious saddle. You’re giving players strictly less rewards for pushing rating, so what fills the gap for people who are on the cusp of 1800 skill level and need motivation to push over?
but bliiizzzzz! i pwomise all i want is elite cataclysmic paladin set and a bwutal drake for free, and i pwwwooomiiisee i’ll play 7 hours a day for the rest of my life
i’ll even play 100 games at 16 hundo for them!!!
it’s just not fehhwuhh that i don’t have it JUST because i didn’t even pway the game back then!
The seasonal titles? The want to collect other sets? Everyone is motivated by something different.
What other sets? Are you saying keep 1800 rating for the current season sets and trading post system for the old sets?
Why would I struggle to push 1800 rather than just wait til next patch to get the set as a participation reward? This is what my first reply to you already dealt with.
If you’re saying no rating requirement even for current season sets, then you think that “Rival Tumble” is enough for people to want to push 1800 for the first time?
I think what he’s advocating for is the current system plus.
When you get to 1800 you’re done with your set but then you can start progression towards some way to get an older mog set. Just like the vicious saddles(of which I am one percent from “earning” my first one ever).
No, just have a trading post type system for everything, current set included. Once you unlock the current set, you can progress toward the old sets.
Am I the only person left who actually plays this game for fun? How do all of you care so much about this nonsense?
I see, at least this is a concrete proposal.
My opinion is that people already find reward deserts in the climb from 0-3k, and this makes that situation strictly worse because you’ve removed a lasting reward from the 1800 tier and not added anything in return.
In principle I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the suggestion, but it’s definitely not obvious that the adverse effects wouldn’t outweigh the benefits.
Everybody plays for fun.
This Tumble guy is fried.
Then why do you care who gets what and wait until the last week to queue? Don’t act like you don’t have time either.
Because I’m collecting stuff, doing mog runs, playing alts and other games? Oh, and random bgs a lot of nights with some friends because it’s just fun.
Idk what that has to do with anything
Because not everything should be given away.
It’s not being given away, its being earned, but just in a manner you don’t agree with. That’s fine, like I said, I get the 1800 sets I want. I just think that having access to the older sets as well would drive up participation, that’s all.
Older sets being locked is kind of silly. You can still farm old PvE sets and there’s probably very little argument as to why PvP sets are still locked.
I get their point regarding mounts and titles. I personally think those things should stay “rare” and tied to the difficulty at the time. But gear tmogs being locked to limited time is silly, personally. Not everyone shares that opinion, and that’s great, but I haven’t heard a true negative to the idea, just mainly name calling.
Where consistency
Okay, but that’s like pointing out how the majority of the pve playerbase doesn’t do heroic raid even though you can do 15 people carrying 15 afks.
Starting*
This is true in pve and pvp.
I don’t think that you should get access to every reward by doing things wrong.
This has nothing to do with gatekeeping either.
If everything is free, the people have no attachment to earning the reward and either don’t care to get it, or get it instantly and quit.
Having to work for things is what makes them feel rewarding and makes people keep playing.
Ya I have nothing against this, but when players are told, “this is a one time thing and wont come back” and then “surprise! it came back” can feel disingenuous.
It sure feels good when things click.
Ye, that’s why it’s best to not engage tbh. It’s just rage bait.
