My Blitz queue just popped at 10mins at 3200 MMR. That queue time for him is going to keep extending while he’s in there and his BGB queue would have popped. We should be happy that these brackets are so active that we can actually play the game!
Theres a huge difference between players and active players.
The majority of the wow playerbase never sets foot in rated pvp.
There have been seasons where gladiator was 10-20% of the active playerbase.

I really miss the luduslabs guy because he did weekly “state of the ladder” data comparisons and they were excellent.

Well, there are only 1851 toons above 2400, and you can bet at a minimum, most 2400 players have more than 1 toon, so its probably only about 400-500 people. It’s a small number.

There is some funky stuff with mmr. I dropped from 2700 mmr to 2400 in a single loss. My 2400 game we lost as well. My next match at 2100, I was one of the highest cr players on my team at 1600… Every single match since then, my teams mmr is on average 100 lower than the opposing team, we are cannon fodder.
This all happened the moment my cr hit 1600. My climb started out in the 1300 range and jumped up to 2700 over 12 matches.
I was in and winning 2600/2700 matches as a healer in greens. And then just losing streak.
Increased malleability of MMR during “placements” or when streaking.
My alt was like 11-3 in a 2950ish game or something.
I dropped to 1500 MMR after a losing streak from 2700 CR/MMR and had to play another 100 games to climb up as my MMR and CR equalized on my evoker.
All it just took a 5 game losing streak while playing in off hours where I was in lobbies much lower than my CR and MMR.

Oh, yeah, and be wary of duos. 
Friend was like yeah yeah this alt is 2600 when really it was 2k and we lost a game which dunked me like 300 mmr.
Just getting put in a low MMR lobby will plummet you. Just like how winning in a high MMR lobby will sky rocket you. It’s honestly not a perfect system when we’re talking about having 8 people on each team.
This is what I’m coping with at the moment.
Edit: What are considered the best hours to play? I live in Australia so not sure.
If you’re trying hard to push I would avoid queueing on tuesdays and past 2AM EST.
Tuesdays because you’re more likely to run into someone abusing something broken or server issues, others because you’re more likely to be put into a low mmr game.
8pm-3 am central.
Not having dead zones in the season will not fix the boring class design unfortunately
The people currently playing still are the only ones sticking out this mess, people’s minds are so cooked from this game they actually think rewards will keep people playing rather than an actually good game
Casual gamers demanding rewards of the past for 1/3rd of the effort or just flat out handed to them has been the nail in the coffin for everything pvp related in this game.
Increasing rewards only makes people try it out once and never again, because its one and done.
Need to start catering to the people that actually like Pvp, and have played it for years. Enough w/the bending the knee to casuals on every little thing.
No, keep it all gatekept. There is no good reason to shift away from gatekeeping any of it. Its never 1 and done with you players. As soon as mogs go (which has been heavily spoken against in the past), then the questions about mounts and titles come in.
At best do a recolor, but even then why? Why are you so obsessed with getting things you simply never earned?
