It's pathetic how rogues have been meta for almost two decades

No seriously, it is. It’s both hilarious and pathetic that a class has remained it’s dominance for so long without any other class coming close to it’s meta timeframe. Since WoW’s launch, rogues have been one of the most strongest and controlling classes. There has been only ONE expansion where rogues were not the meta for all patches and that was WOTLK and the only reason for that was because of deathknights even STILL rogues became a meta in patch 3.3.

After watching AWC these past months I’ve noticed just about every single team has a rogue, EVERY SINGLE ONE. You may find alot of evokers and you might find alot of shadowpriest, but just about each and every team has a rogue in some form and it’s honestly sad how blizzard has let this class remain this dominate for so long.

World of roguecraft was a video that shed some light on this problem and it came out in vanilla, since then everyone has turned the other cheek and acted like rogues are op just because they are which is ridiculousness. Blizzard actually do something for once about this class and not just a single spec, the CLASS. It’s time for World of roguecraft to finally end.

Fun fact, somebody on Reddit did a spreadsheet for class balance which included all the raids since Legion to current.

Shadow Priest (surprisingly to me) is the most consistent spec.

By class - Warlock is number 1, then Rogue, then Priest.

I’m talking about specifally pvp here where rogues have been no question the most consistent since legion to current, but even still in PVE rogues have been the most dominate since WoW’s launch and not just legion which was only a few expansions ago.

I used to be sad about rouges* until I learned how to kill them once in a while.

My suggestion would be to git gudder.

*While I am no longer sad about rouges, I still hate the miserable little murder hobos, and would cheer if the entire class were deleted.

I’ve been waiting to see a rogue in Valdrakken all weekend and haven’t seen a one, did they eat a massive nerf or something?

I know they were always a low population class but I haven’t been seeing ANY.

The QQ about rogues in PvP has been consistent, this is true.

Rogues tend to sit in stealth a lot, at least I know I do just out of habit, so you won’t you may not see them unless you’re on top of them

Well we’re also the most nerfed class, also the most complained about class, but most of all we’re the class with the least glyphs in the game but you don’t see us complaining.

It’s a slap in the face, I tells ya!

You clearly forget that either warriors need to be nerfed or rogues need to be buffed

Bumpin this

Rogues are smart, why would anyone play a class that has half as much control?

I think it’s awful how the word Meta keeps being misused. I know people like using it, but pick up a dictionary once in a while.

Anyways…

Rogues are more pests than anything. That’s not a slur either. With a good tactical mind a Rogue, even in bad gear can tie up a significant amount of an opponent’s resources. One Korrak’s I had my super squishy Rogue sprinting between a couple graveyards sapping people, which drew most of their Demon Hunters and a Mage away from the fight to deal with it. This took more of the enemy out of action than I could in melee.

When attacked by Rogues in BGs while healing I rarely die. Maybe on the priest once in a while, but they usually give up on the druid. I don’t see that as OP. The one who saps me constantly while trying to drink… that’s the real effective one.

Then there’s the way they find themselves constantly stuck in combat and unable to stealth without blowing a cooldown. This makes using the Rogue as intended really frustrating.

Stealth is effectively a permanent invulnerability due to WoW being a tab-targeting game, resulting in a limited amount of specs that can even have a chance to counter them.

Rogues are the lowest pop class with perhaps the lowest skill floor in the game.

Get gud.

I only have trouble with rogues on my mage, on account of having no cc to punish aggressive plays with.

Anyone coming at the lock or shaman isn’t walking away alive.

It’s pathetic that people care about the meta when all class are relatively competitive with each other.

This is always true…

Every rogue I’ve ran into is either a brickhouse that slings nukes or is a wet paper towel that dual wields toothpicks.

bad players being bad will always exist in wow. coming from someone who farmed 2200 in Sl S3 using LFG and not voice. I dropped maybe 10 games to rogue comps in over 1k played that season. Its way easier now to see the difference between a good rogue and a bad one.

PvP gripes 2 weeks ago were DH’s. After eating a series of nerfs the dregs of the pvp community have shifted to rogue. If rogue eats a nerf its the next strongest that gets whined about b/c ‘op fereverrrrrrrrrrrr.’ Its a joke honestly, but this is what you get when you tune the game around game illiterate people (solo shuffle)
