Because arbitrary numbers like “1800” mean different things different seasons or even different parts of the same season.
By having things displayed as a % we can void the “add inflation” cries.

It would also give you a way to clearly see how you improve season to season. Top 90% one season (meaning you are only better than 10% of the players). But in the next season you might be top 80%. Rather than being 1400 both seasons and it means different things both times.
This is how rewards should be handed out
Attaching rewards to current rating is a bad idea when current rating is artificially increased as the season continues
Players should get rewards for cracking the top X% of their spec in a bracket. Have some floor to clear like 1500 so people don’t make throwaway alts to inflate the ladder
I would like to see rating not reset every season but rather you get placement matches before it assigns you a rating… just like other games… sure percentile could be included too but I think this would be a better overall system.
it really does 1800 this season doesnt feel the same as say 1800 in DF season 1 or slands season 1 , 1800 right now feels like 2200 lul
