It's okay to cater to "casuals"

DUDE…i spent that money to BLIZZARD to boost NEW characters to max level. lmao
I dont pay to cheat / get carried
this is why they need to find another word for carry and not use ‘boost’ lol.

What’s funny is how made up this is too. What proof would even exist of this statement?

but ff14 doesnt reward the strongest gear to players that dont progress through savage raids.

Everyone had to click on your post to see it.

Everyone eh? And how do you know the quantity of people having to click on my post?

You need to. Your army of alts need to have SLimy Cat, KSM mounts and shiny weapons and gear. If you can pay for leveling, you can also pay for your gearing. No need to play the game. Have your wallet play the game for you.

I’m a supernatural entity and I monitor all of you in your homes.

lol…well that would defeat the point of playing the game.
Im here to play…not pay someone else to play for me lol

I think the response is negative because they WoW players don’t want to be harassed.

It’s against the ToS in FF14 to negatively address someone’s skillset. The players even take it a step further to willingly report any level of critique. It’s kind of nuts but it enables casuals to do content.

If you join up into a savage/extreme with only the dungeon tier equipped, folks will definitely make note of it. It won’t necessarily stop them from trying the run with you, but it won’t stop them from staring at your DPS [through illegal mods] the entire time either.

This is true at least in the beginning of the raid tier. Near the end they introduce a 24 man raid with tokens that can upgrade the dungeon tier equipment to max ilvl. Even then you need both savage gear and dungeon gear to be BiS.

That doesn’t explain it for solo content like TG or MT though.

Looks like what they do to calculate who comprises the majority of the player base too.

If I had to guess it’s because they feel alienated already. If FF14 players had similar content they’d jump right on it. Probably because the casuals over there feel like the game never left them.

Because it was a bait and switch advertisment for 3 months claiming ‘any difficulty’ and then suddenly pulling the rug out from under folks. That’s why people are so upset out it.

It’s a short article :person_shrugging:

I’m not going to argue you with there, he’s patting himself on the back. I’m guessing he would be implying things like the “Half-Hill Farm”, 3-man scenarios, and pet battles.

I don’t consider people doing 10 man raids and heroic dungeon spam during wrath as hardcore. But that goes into the boundary of what exactly a casual is.

As per the article though, I linked it for Shreds because it was the the most accurate in terms of a Blizzard person speaking about a casual direction of the game.

In the OP, he wasn’t asking for the usual spiel of wanting higher gear rewards or previous challenge mode/previous pvp season transmogs to come back. He posted about asking for balance of content and giving the cosmetics that people chase as an incentive in the form of new rewards.

Oh I see, you come here to play. Paying $660 is playing? ROFL. I dont want to talk to these Trolls anymore. Shut up and let your wallet play.

Well and I have no issue with casual content. What I have issue with is this egotistical mindset casual players have that they have a controlling interest in the game when there’s hardly any evidence of it. If that article is the most evidence there is, it’s not even an argument.

I know you think it’s an insult and I hope you’re at least enjoying yourself but it doesn’t bother me to call me that. That guy, while not universally liked by any means is wildly successful in his work.

Imagine making fun of someone for asking for evidence as if they’re dumb instead of providing any though.

I don’t think it’s an insult, I just wanted to watch you fanboy out.

There ya go. Totally worth it.
