And by that I mean, you can excel in low and moderate ratings on Ret, despite being a bad player, more than any other class.
Huge damage, 20 yard range on most abilities, frequent cds, many get-out-of-jail-free spells.
However, once everyone is a multi-glad, Ret falls off. Different specs are easier to play at different brackets. Healer/support-dependent specs will generally have a harder time in lower brackets, and easier time in higher brackets.
I don’t think this guide really accounts for juking in its difficulty rating.
Frost mages at a glance seem easy to play but are much harder to survive on especially for inexperienced players. 1 frost lock in this meta you go boom . Coldsnap and forfeit a block or die. Or die caught in a global and not be able to block.
Or just die from 50% to in 0.9 in some whack burst.
I always feel much safer on fire with cauterize to lean on.
Arcane/Frost are mechanically intense to play successfully with constant juking, kiting and repositioning needed and awareness of how you can splat in a global constantly.
Fire you can eat every kick, make risky plays and not really care and have cheat death to fall back on when all else fails. Don’t really need to worry about misplays backfiring too often
As someone who has played a druid and rogue for a very long time (rogue since bc and druid since wrath) one of which always being my main (except for s1 of df). Feral is alot easier than people think. Maybe its bias but im ngl its pretty easy to play for me anyway.
No way should a single Rogue or mage spec be anywhere under Hard. I don’t think Supa considered how much target changing there is. Bleed and poison uptime on all targets, cc and kicks, saving healers with smoke bomb. This guys crazy. Mages too, way more work than any other caster. Alter time is wonky to use, tons of poly casting, and squishy af. Use your cd’s wrong and you die. Also extremely reliant on teammates. I also disagree with him on Ele and Arms. Both of those are tough to play correctly. Every healer in this game is hard right now. May as well put them all on very hard.
imo the hardest part about the current state of sub rogue is patience. the damage modifiers and vanish cdr has made sub very easy to play. so if you can wait for a good set up, you’ll win at some point.
burst damage is super good and cdr allows for you to make mistakes as well as create a lot of CD gaps between your opponents. if there was no vanish cdr or double vanish talent, then it would be much harder. but as it stands, even when everyone is on stun dr and you dont have blades/duel, you can farm secret tech and dance pretty easy and have good passive damage. you dont have to run around after every kidney, you can stay out and do dam more often.
sub is def one of the harder specs to play in this game, but it’s still so disgustingly watered down to how it was before that it is easy in that regard.
that’s just how i feel about it tho.
nothing really has complexity anymore so no one really wants to call something “hard”
