I am pretty casual, I don’t really raid, I have only done M+ up to 9 and I have not pushed Arena rating. However I STILL want to make my character as strong as it can be. Why would I not want to mix max with what is available to me? This is an MMORPG not an RPGMMO, save your Role-playing for the RP servers, keep player power out of the equation.
Min maxing is horribly boring.
If you min max you have no choice in what your character can do.
If you min max you might as well have no choices to make but just a set character template.
I wish everyone could just collectively lose knowledge of the meta and just chill out.
I don’t care for Min / Maxing thing but when some spec / talents / set ups are just obvious superior I can’t help but feel shoe horned into a specific role.
I don’t really find myself having to much fun when my set up dps is easily compared to that of a wet noodle while everone is just spinning around and making things vanish in 2s.
I don’t understand the issue… A +7 per week will give you 460 gear in your weekly chest. Equivalent to heroic gear. Nothing stopping you from trying for bis gear in every slot, albeit at 460. Please gem & enchant everything, socket them if you want with horrific visions. With the neck & cloak that’ll be enough to take you to 465 ilvl. Which is awesome for doing +9’s. If you want to stay there.
Can I insert my terrible take? You forgot about me…
Honestly, I’m all take out. Done like a pizza. IT’s super later and brain is fried, and I think I said my opinion on this enough times literally everyone knows it lol.
Wait this thread has been around 3 hours and No ralph? How did that happen.
Well I mean, that’s the point of min-maxing. All you have to do is gear up and then the rest is about the skill to do the most damage/healing possible. I’m not a min-maxer though so I can’t speak on it
It is the point.
Thats why I was wondering if min maxers would rather the game just removed all talents and stuff so there was never a wrong choice to make.
But if you’re not a min maxer it doesn’t apply to you.
Being casual is not about content (or time played); it is about attitude, play choices and focus.
Lots of casuals do.
But it is not their top priority.
Because you would rather choose the most appealing? The most interesting? The most fun? You know, like a casual.
Rearranging the letters does not change the reality that WoW is a role-playing game and it is all tied together for Race, for Class and, coming soon, for Covenants.
That’s a bit of a strawman though. Being a min-maxer =/= having no choice.
With my class for example, even though I’m not a minx-maxer, I remember you could heal using a T21 Binding Heal build or a T20 Piety PoM build, both were really good. Two things can be true.
EDIT: The only people are I see arguing for the removal of talents and the like are those who are trying to mock competitive players
i like how you start out with a logical fallacy, then you build upon that to ask a loaded question! why do i like it? because it shows, deep down, you dont have an actual argument to stand on, and that you know it, too.
i find min maxing fun and that means that usually i am 90% cookie cutter. and tbh, i dont care what any of the other hpalys are doing or wearing.
and to everyone: when you have to redefine what an RPG is to make a weak argument that wow is not one, you have already lost the argument.
