Its never been a worst time to be a wc3 fan

With shadowlands story ending in 9.2 i feel like every good bit of lore wc3 had was utter obliterated by danuser writing and obsession with sylvanas. It really sucks having your main being a dk and blizzard is destroying our class fantasy, lore and the freaking helm of domination because “tHe jaIlEr”.
Such a boring villain, an they managed to make the lick king boring.
Overall just sucks.

Nothing was destroyed. The only particular thing that was changed about WC3 is learning where the Lich King’s armor came from. The moment it was handed off to Kil’jaeden everything from there onwards was their own actions and still played out the same way it did. Zovaal really did nothing else except throw a stone into a pond.

Death knights and the Ner’zhul/Arthas Lich King are still the same as before. But the Helm and Scourge are forces of evil. No matter how iconic they are every story has to end at some point. WoW can’t cling to WC3 forever.

Yeah Shadowlands is super cringy and awful. Its a bad fan fiction we can only hope 10.00 just nukes the universe and we start over at this point. Imagine being at the end of the story and still nobody cares about your villain.

I had a feeling you would be here. People cannot criticize the lore without you being “well ackthually is all explained and is genius writting see?”.

Any writer worth their salt knows that it’s essential to create character motivations

Here jailer wants to replace the system, why ? And what he wants to replace it with ? No one knows

Why jailor wants everyone to serve him ? No one knows.

These people working at Blizzard should be ashamed to call themselves writers

It’s pathetic

For sure. I’ve had Moonguard Server RP events with better storylines than this lol. Its so bad.

Worst part who thought of the afterlife? Like. We can double die? WoW has to have one of the worst afterlives ever thought up in all of fantasy.

Seriously what is with this forums obsession with hating danuser? Its starting to seem really creepy.

What? You don’t like the afterlife being an Airport where an Automated Air Traffic Control Tower sends you to a 5 star resort which caters to your particular kink/fantasy?

Not nearly as creepy as his obsession with a dead elf woman who suddenly started looking like Kaitlin Olsen for some inexplicable reason after he took control of the story.

Whatever happens in World of Warcraft has no effect on Warcraft III or any of the previous RTS games because it is a completely separate canon. These aren’t retcons, but are an entire different storyline.

This is also why the Disney Trilogy for Star Wars isn’t actually a Sequel Trilogy.

I mean just saying the afterlife seems kinda awful when its like. Okay you died. Heres your new afterlife job. You can be Zombie that fights. Vague Roman angel folks who can’t remember who they are. Be a Vampire cosplayer who is really into pain, or a Gardener with really hairy legs.

Then outside of having to have a job. You also can starve, and die at any time.

So…what we go to the SUPER DUPER shadowlands after we die?

Hi! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m not saying you can’t dislike the story, opinions are always opinions. And yes there are flaws in SL too, nothing in WoW has ever been perfect writing. The reason I correct threads a lot is because people don’t seem to know or pay attention to what’s actually going on, yet still get upset when they don’t get why things are happening. No one reads dialogue anymore.

But in this case I just meant really nothing has changed about WC3’s lore. You could completely take out the SL side of things and still the entire Lich King arc is about the same.

10.0 spoilers!

I legitimately lol’d

There are infinite realms in the SL. These four covenants are only a tiny few, the ones with actual responsibilities. Most other afterlives are just peaceful paradises tailored to your type of character and that’s where the majority of souls go. But it is pretty much a second life, not true death.

And here I used to think it’s Netflix and chill after death

What’s the point of dying if we have to work in after life too

This makes 0 sense. If there are unlimited afterlives. how is there ever an anima shortage? Half of unlimited is unlimited. 0.1% of unlimited. Is unlimited. You’d have un ending smaller realms to ally up against revedreth, and maldraxxus. You’d never have the Arden anima shortage.

They said there were unlimited places. After everybody pointed out how beyond awful the afterlife in WoW is. The story is not made to fit the “oh its endless you just don’t see it.” band-aid they tried to put on to cover up their awful storytelling.

Unfortunately this not true. Kel’thuzad’s character no longer makes any sense. Him sabotaging the dreadlords (who were on the same side as him) makes no sense.

That’s also ignoring they made the Scourge just a lame copy/paste of Maldraxxus.

Its just all around terrible, pointless changes that are indefensible because they don’t actually add anything of interest to the old stories.

Well to be fair these are the WoW forums, I imagine most people don’t know exactly what they’re talking about, myself included. But it does get funny forum points to say WoW bad and then target and insult developers sooo…
