It's literaly impossible to gear up doing PvP today

Hi everyone, so I just bought Shadowlands with a friend of mine, we loved that Blizzard brought back PvP Vendors and we decide to level up and pvp togheter, earn honor, earn conquest, earn rating, buy gear, all the fun stuff.

Since I did not play at the begning of the season, everyone is super ultra gearep up all the way to full 226 with 40k+ hp. Wich is, OK. I just need to keep playing, earn honor them conquest and buy my pvp set to be able to fight toe to toe, a fair fight.

The problem is, as the system is right now, it is impossible to do that. Goingo in to a arena with 0 rating, 11 out of 10 match up are against peaple with 40k+ hp that basically one shot me and my friend in our full honor set.

There’s no way two honor set can win against 226 peaple with double our health. And most of the time are peaple being carried. Yesterday this pally just kill me in like 2s, he as carring a druid with 19k hp.

So, I can’t win because the fight is unfair.
Let’s gear up them to make it fair.
I can’t because i don’t have the rating.

I believe that gear should not be a reward in PvP, that’s a PvE thing. You kill the boss to get the gear. In PvP, gear should not be the reward for winning, gear should be just a tool. PvP is about skill, but there’s no skill involve when you go against someone with half your hp.

The gear being locked behing rating is just dumb. If you don’t play at the begining of the season, you’re done.

Because I don’t want it. I want to PvP. I want to progress by pvp. But I can’t. I’m feeling really stupid right now.

Recently took me like 5 weeks from fresh 60 to 220ilvl. Mainly playing sundays. If you not healer, hard to gear now. Weekdays arena slow.

I mean I didn’t gear this toon at beginning and was able to get gear.

Easiest way i found is to do low mmr 2s for fast games just for conquest, then once you have the conquest gear start pushing rating. If you push while getting conquest the games are longer and grind is slower.

Plus q pops are pretty fast at 1200 mmr

Took me about 280 games of 2s and like 3-4 RBG’s to get to 215 from a 158 who started queueing immediately after getting the full basic honour set on my feral druid.

Queued with an equally undergeared Rsham.

Sometimes it was funny when my 185 geared Druid randomly killed someone way over geared at 1500 because they were horrible, but a lot of the time it was just a slog.

idk about literally impossible, I got to 226 ilvl within 5 days of leveling a new toon like a week ago. (It wasn’t fun but it wasn’t impossible).

Blizzard is basically Blockbuster

They’re still trying to market DVDs to people who no longer own DVD players

Hopefully they realize gaming has changed and update their design philosophy

Classic servers are there for the hardcore mmorpg purists. It’s time to modernize retail

I know it’s possible to get decent ratings while undergeared, but nearly 100% of the time someone posts on these forums that they got their fresh alt x rating it’s someone who has much higher XP on their main.

Play with a priest with xanshi legendary in 2v2. Profit from the fact most people 1600 and below have no idea. Won’t be much longer and everybody and there mom will know about it.

Ah, well see the lead game designer says this happens because you’re bad at the game, not because of the gear.

Great post OP. Really illustrates the impact current gearing has on returning players. Too bad a dev will never read this. The mods around here almost undoubtedly forward them all of Bloomsday’s posts while shielding them from authentic feedback like yours.

Sure. And I am consistently above 1800, so’s my healer. But doing it from undergeared just shows someone like Murrk or Dozer or whomever that it is possible - it’s just a skill issue at that point.

Oh, I 100% agree it’s a skill issue. My point is that if you’re 2.4k xp on your main it’s not a far off idea that it would be easier to reach a much lower rating on a different class.

What I mean is you would expect a 2.4k player to be able to reach 1800. Which is kinda silly that you need that much XP to progress to what was typically an easy rating to get in previous xpacs

Hopefully I can find a resto druid in LFG who still needs 1600 (if that’s even possible)

So according to these forums, anything below 2400 should be easily obtainable. If you are not able to obtain 2400 than as Ion Hozzikostas put it, “it’s a skill issue”. :exploding_head: :flushed: :flushed: :flushed: :flushed: :flushed: :flushed: :flushed:
