the reward team really needs to up their game on these things
I’d be happy if I could just stop getting 325 azerite gear. Can’t scrap it for the new residuum currency. Can no longer sell it for gold. All you can do with it is outright delete it, or scrap it for a couple pieces of worthless crafting material. Good times.
WQ rewards weren’t horrible, simply gear is available more freely from other sources making it far too easy to surpass their usefulness.
I’m going to assume that WQ rewards haven’t been updated in 8.1 to be more relevant with the increase in available gear? If that is the case that sounds like a problem.

looks at the percentage of gear gotten with the number of seals wasted, divides that by the number of times has received azerite, azerite, and oh yeah here, have some more azerite.
You’ll get half the gold for a world boss you got in Legion, and you damn well better like it!
its not just the gear. its the gold. Its not paying much over legion rates. and in legion you can fly. if you really wna to make you gold this way…bfa not ideal.
Haven’t seen the table to see if better in 8.1 yet. I have an all exalt horde…they stopped using the table after I splurged on some new LZ’s with resources that were piling up. this alliance char same thing (I by choice don’t really care if I exalt turtles tbh).
I get more fun use out of legion hall resources tbh. love the random pet and toy chances there. Sargarus blood been helping speed along crafting for completionist need. Love that blood vendor. Love them long time lol.
Eh you can’t deny that gear is more readily available still. We have multiple rares that can potentially drop 340 gear in Arathi, we have a quest that gives us 370 gear from Arathi, there are another 2-3 quests in Arathi that reward us with 340 gear, a world boss that can grant 370 gear in Arathi, there are multiple weekly chests available, there are weekly quests that often reward gear, and there is LFR.
That’s a lot of content that gives comparable gear(or better) to the max level that WQs can achieve. Even if it isn’t always consistent (I don’t even buy seals much these days, they are expensive ways to get 500 AP).
The azerite issue is just…bad…I haven’t liked it since Legion. It doesn’t feel rewarding, just feels either necessary (if you do it) or punishing (if you don’t).
Getting 1% of a level for 10-15mins work is just ridiculously slow. I just rely on catch up mechanics and unavoidable AP rewards.
They massively buffed world quests and emmisaries like 4 times and again in the patch. What more specifically would you like to see?
Yeah, I think I focused a bit too much on the gear side of rewards. I do think that in general it doesn’t feel rewarding at all, but then I haven’t been active for a little while now. I haven’t done WQs since like week 3 outside of potentially trying to get a good 370 azerite piece from embassy, or gearing a new character.
Not 30 gold, 50 war resources, or 300 AP?
Ya know, maybe stuff that actually is worth doing them outside of just for the emissary box
AP is very lucrative for the time spent. Resources are some what useless but still a fair amount.
But problem is gold, and they just buffed that’s again but still we won’t be going back to the days where you were getting thousands of gold per emmisary. That’s not healthy for the game at all, and not in line with any other questing content that has even been in the game 50 to 100 is far more realistic.
How high would you say is worth it for you?
I like the WQs. They reward Rep(the most important) and some other stuff like extra Azerite power, Resources, Gold, blue items etc. and they are quite nice. It helped me a lot when I was fresh LvL 120 when all my gears were below iLvL 300. I got some 315~325 iLvL gears from WQs and did some timewalk dungeons to reach iLvL 320. Only then I was able to queue for warfront and LFR.
They give nice bonuses and if you do them all, they add quite a lot for gold.
Do you mind linking to the source if you have it available. I couldn’t see WQ changes outside of Legion WQ increased rep rewards so perhaps I’m overlooking something.
I think a lot of the issue is with gold / AP / and resources. I know gold was increased for embassy rewards but couldn’t notice if they have for actual WQs?
AP is not worth the time spent. Islands are substantially faster. If the world quests gave an extra 50% then maybe theyd be more tempting. The fact that the azerite gear from WQs cannot be scrapped for the currency and now can no longer be sold makes them not worth doing.
The gold gained is a joke, I am better farming old raids and selling the gear then I am doing the WQs that give gold.
Go look at the Darkshore WQ rewards, there is nothing of value there. Maybe 320 gear that had the new appearances, some way to get the transmog would have been totally worth it. Instead its kill 30 elite mobs for 200 order resources.
Gold Rewards
- World Quests and Missions now reward more gold .
From the patch notes.
Don’t have the other hotfixed handy sorry , but it happened for sure!
Same here. did hit some recently for the azurite reward in cache that came up so much of late. did seal up some aP level 30’s for me. “done” really as it has all pieces final unlock. don’t raid or dungeon it up…unless a warfront gives me better to sweat this later I am content now.
My 120 hunter scans them since needs a like a ring or trinket to push 340 higher all slots.
I have had my all exalted horde more in Legion Wq for rep. HM to be specific.
this char is accidental Wq’s. I go pick flowers…walk into WQ’s, do them lol
Uh oh looks like you’re trying logic with the entitlement crowd. They’ll always have a thousand counter arguments based on their feelings when you present facts.
Man you must be CRUSHING islands if they take you less time than one world quest. That’s crazy!
Anyway, I disagree of course, and will again state that the gold amount even after buffs is more than generous. There are any many ways to earn gold in this game. World quests should not be the best way to do it imo.
Anyway for the new warfront world quests is look at the vendor. Plenty of things on there that will be worth using the new currency on. And the world quests that give so seem to give slightly more than the ones in the other zones, but that may just be small sample size.
Mythics give 350, and a chance of a quest that gives 750. The drop rate used to be pretty good. Havent tried that much in 8.1. That is potentially over 1k azerite for about 8 minutes of time.
I have no real problems if blizzard wants to make WQ rewards not relevant. That is fine by me. Just saying that the rewards are not worth other than the emissary.
I think the rewards are largely inline with what we saw in Legion. With a few key exceptions.
- Pargaon rep was a missing feature for the longest time in BFA. This made rep rewarding WQ really really pointless after hitting exalted. (Heck, that was a key reason as to why paragon reps were introduced in the first place with Legion. They were used to keep that stuff somewhat relevant and not completely unrewarding)
- Quests that reward trade mats/expulsom. Back in Legion there were WQ that rewarded Blood of Sargeras (Expulsom parallel) as well as unique trade mats like Felhide/Infernal core/ Bacon that didn’t come from many other sources.
- WQ that rewarded Honor points and Marks. Back in Legion there were Honor rewarding WQ such as the warden towers , Bare Back Brawl, Operation Murlock Freedom. Anything similar is glaring absent in BFA
- AP is not as useful or compelling in BFA as it was in Legion. The emissaries and WQ that solely have AP as a reward are … well. Ignored by many people. People wearing 355 gear stopped caring about AP a lot sooner than people wearing 370, or 385 azerite gear but the problem is the same and obvious. Beyond the point you have unlocked all the traits on your current gear, additional AP is not desired or seen as useful. You stop chasing it, becuase further levels in the HoA do not carry any compelling reward. Heck, to the average player that stat increase of the HoA every level is an invisible reward. Some aren’t even aware it is happening. Even after they’ve put 20+ levels on the thing.
- Resources, are in much the same boat as AP. At a relatively easy to reach point for most players their usefulness dries up. And they gain more than they spend during normal play. Many feel no reason to go out of their way to earn them, and for such reason, they have stopped being a compelling reward. Many just ignore them.
- Gold amounts from WQ were far too low at the start of BFA. (I understand what they were attemting) but no one is going out of their way for a WQ rewarding 70g… when they can vendor a stack of grey trash they’ve passively collected over their session for about 1/2 that.
DE it. Enchanting mats still sell pretty well.
The enchants crafts themselves are bound to see higher than average sales when WQ rewards update with the release of the new raid.
