I recall early in middle school when I decided I hated art class as my school’s class was to copy what we were told were famous drawings or paintings. Each day was to take paint or chalk or whatever was was given to us and do the same thing that the example was given to us showed. Don’t change anything, don’t think, just copy.
I worry that the folks working on classic and tbc suffer a similar feeling. I hear on podcasts and youtube that it would be cool if there was more communication from classic and tbc people but its possible that nobody really wants to work on this stuff. Like work is work but I imagine people got into working with video games to exercise a degree of creativity
If anything the small changes made to the game like shoving in level boosts must have felt like at least something was being done at work that day.
There is a lot of hate and frustration flying around about Blizzard decisions but we do appreciate and have appreciated being able to explore Azeroth again. Even most of the people upset about stuff not being how they want care about Classic and TBC.
