It's getting harder and harder

To wake up and go to work everyday. Been at the same miserable factory for 10+ years, feels like I’m rotting away.

Part of me wants to give up. Part of me wants to take a chance and stream some mythic+ and see where it takes me.

WoW, has been a positive part of my life for years now, i wish i could do something with that and live a more simpler and joyful life.

It’s only Monday. sigh Time to get off the crapper and get back to work.

Just thinking out loud, rant over.

If you end up pigeon holed its time to go. Your career will just stagnate and they wont care as long as your hitting production goals. Your never going to hit journeyman that way.

I hate that feeling…
I think everyone experiences it from time to time…No job is the panacea of jobs for sure. Each one has ups/downs.
Push through and remember it could always be worse - no job at all…

In mean time - think about things you could do on the side to maybe start a business and finally venture out on your own. Full disclosure it is scary to do but liberating at the same time.

Im the highest paid employee on the work floor, humbly. Money isn’t worth it anymore. Just mentally stuck rn.

I worry if I made gaming a job it would lose the magic. Do what you think makes the most sense for you though.

Might consider going back to college, trade school, start your own business, etc. Just don’t quit before you’ve got alternatives, cause most job places want someone who can already do the job day one, so you’ll just end up in another factory without a plan B.

Monotony is the final boss of life imo. Even streaming gets boring after a while.

I think perspective may help. The present time is the only thing that’s real. The past is just in your head. If we let that drift off like the wake of a boat, its less apparent how long we’ve done something. The boredom part idk. That’s another hurdle. But if you want to try streaming, I know some of my past co-workers would try to stream at night a bit to see where it takes them.

Everyone gets that feeling from time to time op, your not alone.

I personally like any job that I can punch in, punch out and not think about till I punch in the next day.

I work to live, not live to work and I’ve taken pay cuts just for better hours and more time out of work.

Remember, no job pays you enough to be stressed out and feeling stuck.

Best wishes to you!

In what streaming? Nah, not for me. I do everything possible to not get attention lol, but those workers I mentioned had a day job and then just streamed at night. I think she still does it. She would walk around the store announcing she’s a streamer it was kind of funny.

Been there many times. I had to jump so many jobs to get where i am now. Sometimes even a threat of leaving will change stuff but youll just be unhappy 6 months down the road. Sometimes you just have to leave. I wish you luck, though.

I do suggest against turning your hobbies and fun into a job.

Yeah I think I heard something similar from a streamer a while ago.

You like playing games? Do you still like playing games 16hrs every day of the week? even when you don’t want to play that day?

Some people can. I don’t think I could.

I quit the week before Christmas because they told me there was no chance of higher pay after I’d done stuff way above my duties for months.

They’re now stuck with people who suck and might crash and burn :grimacing:

i was just thinking this a bit ago. i’m so tired of these dumb people at work. luckily im able to zone out. the pay is good, but the idiots i work with is too much. so now i’ve created a bubble and get done and run. just think about when it’s almost time to go home you finally get to game or do as you like. we’re all doing the grind man…the grind of life. you got this.

I work part-time in retail. I’ve done factory jobs in the past, but only ever had one I loved.

I just come in, daydream, do my job, and go home.

Currently thinking of guild names.
