It's fun to play solo and

isnt that how it currently works? unless im mistaken the game tries to match groups first then fills in with solo players.
if a suitable group cant be found then its just solo players and ques keep popping. adding in that groups ONLY face other groups will lead to longer ques for the grouped players AND there is no matching for skill or ilvl etc.

I’ve never seen anything officially confirmed on any of this, but the rumor I’ve seen is that yes the game attempts to match groups vs other groups, but does not take into consideration group size at all so it’s just as happy to put a group of 5 vs a group of 2.

However, like I said, I’ve never seen official confirmation that’s how it works at all so take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah I think I saw somewhere they said the system tries to match groups vs groups. I’m too tired to search. It was implied that it was super loose though as they didn’t want to drive up que times.

I think it was a love session somewhere. Not a post.

That’s not people being lazy. It is just a game after all.

It’s adults playing the game on their own terms.

Fair… I worded it badly as I thought the statement I was replying to was silly.

The issue is less about laziness I guess. It’s just what’s easiest even if it’s less fun? I’d much rather play with friends and lose than solo and win?

I’m weird though.

I don’t think that’s a weird take at all. I think (and would hope) that most people would prefer playing a game with friends for fun over playing solo for a better win rate.

It’s okay, fun is subjective.

Which is why premades exist. Who would’ve thunk it lol.

Well given i find the vast majority of people really annoying and faulty and usually inferior to myself as well not really.

I would much preffer the higher winrate solo.

Thats why i like this spec it gives me the most individual control of whats happening and over my own hp. as long as i can react fast enough i’ll usually be fine.

Being able to just pull myself out of danger whenever i need to instead of having to wait on some healer over there with their 6 second reaction time feels so nice.

Note that when I say ā€œfriendsā€ I mean actual, real life friends. Not like random people in a guild.

I didn’t say they weren’t fun. I said they were dead. Meaning participation is virtually non-existent and it is. 3’s are similar to RBG’s now where a few diehards enjoy them but the vast majority of players and PvP’ers do not.

Maybe these game modes will improve in Midnight with the LFG revamp.

My point is that fewer healers are participating in 3’s, Shuffle and Blitz now than they have been in the past. For 3’s and Shuffle that is both compared to S1&2 TWW and all of DF. For Blitz that is compared to S1&2 TWW.

This is evident both in raw numbers of games played but also in queue times, specifically for Shuffle and Blitz. What we’ve seen is that fewer healers are participating in those game modes but the healers that do play are generally playing more games, but not enough more to compensate for the dwindling population.

The result is that overall number of games is down but waiting times for DPS have ballooned.

In the same timeframe (DF to now), EBG queues have gone from routinely being 15+ minutes to less than half that, even now at the end of an expansion where overall participation in all aspects of the game falls.

The most interesting aspect of EBG’s throughout that same timeframe is that healer participation has been strong and looks to be trending up. So yes, while tank and healers have always been hard to come by in Dungeons, Keys, Shuffle, Blitz, 3’s and so on, they have been abundant in EBG’s. I can’t remember the last time there wasn’t 10+ healers in any EBG.

Except it’s the same general pool of players populating every ebg literally the same idk maybe 500-1k max in every single game.

I see largely the same people day after day after day queing.

It’s because like I told you ebgs more than any other mode is the mode where bad players and yes bad healers can just sit in a mob and spam their rotation unimpeded. Compared to every other mode where they have to actually pay attention and bare more individual responsibility.

It’s actually the other way around, but you barely play so I’m not surprised you don’t know that.

You’ve got that backwards, friend. Epics used to be the fastest pvp queue in the game. Now they’re behind regular randoms unless you get a backfill.

I somewhat agree, but the teams/players that do that lose most games. I can go into a Shuffle game and spam my 1-button and I’d lose there too.

Good PvP’ers standout just as much in EBG’s as they do in Shuffle/Blitz, etc.

Oh dear…

It’s 2025, not 2008.

Never seen Mes farm honor pre-season huh?

Some addons have lists that track and announce certain healers/leaders/DPS joining EBG’s because they’re so feared/respected?

You really going to try tell me that some of those guys with 90% winrates over hundreds or thousands of EBG’s are not standout players?

The mental gymnastics never ceases to amaze.

No, they are cheaters… one player cannot change the outcome of an epic. A whole raid of exploiters sure can though. So, who are you really? Post on your main account.

Nevermind. I just realized who this is.
