I hit level 6 and was running around putting fort on everyone, joined a guild and playied with others. I haven’t had this much fun as a noob in years.
Classic is something that has reignited the passion i had when i joined wow in 2007. I don’t hate retail but i seriously doubt I’ll spend more than the time it takes to run my weekly mythic plus. Classic just trumps retail by light years socially and we’re all better off because of it. Bring it i can hardly stand the wait.

classic wow was an actual mmo, an open world to explore and interact with other players. retail has become a streamlined gear treadmill where, by happenstance, you are required to interact with other players to progress on the treadmill.
vanilla wow was kind of the end of the original MMO experience, its been losing its luster ever since, tbc and wotlk had it a bit, but by cata it was just a gear treadmill. i do not know exactly how/why/what caused the change, and maybe it was just for me, but it really felt that way.

Removal of “sand box” style gaming in favor of “story line” gaming…
TBC was the first “Story driven” version of WoW, where as Classic / Vanilla was a sandbox “WarCraft” theme park… (kinda)…
Every MMORPG ever is a theme park, just that some are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay way way way too “guard rails” (modern wow)…
In retail, they tell you their story.
In classic, you find the stories that interest you.

Yup, that’s part of the guard rails… That and the “cant fail” game mechanics…
Also the “You’re the big hero, savior of the world BS” that’s been plaguing gaming for a while now…
