I am someone from the pvp community. The pvp community is split on this event. Half of us are so starved for pvp content that even low quality food tastes good. The other half despises it because the pvp inside wow with our characters has nothing done for it and continues to be neglected, and then there’s a chunk who is just enjoying it cause its something new and probably fun.
I like it quite a bit, i think it needs a balance patch or three. I don’t want this like as a permanent game mode but i would like for it to be a yearly event during pirates day / pirates week.

I haven’t played it but it sounds interesting and it is a MS title so they could get some synergy by sharing code and art assets. I like the idea of PvE and PvP playing together and I think we could do it in a way that both would enjoy. I’d much rather have something like that than the new sub specs.

thats what i wished warfronts were for. PvE players could focus on arming the troops, upgrading the base, and fending off waves of soldiers while the pvpers push the battle lanes and attack each other. Plz blizz bring warfronts back in some way shape or form.

I think it’d help PvP to have some way to unify the different forms like retail, Wrath, etc. and maybe that’s what they were going for which is a worthy cause.

True, but method of acquisition can dictate PvE or PvP. Cosmetics from BGs and Arenas are PvP the cosmetic rewards from this are better earned by avoiding PvP as much as you can. If the event is giing to be PvP based, might be better if the best way to get the rewards was throgh PvP (getting some plunder off of players, winning gives you enoguh plunder for 1 renown rank, etc)
I like plunderstorm for the most part but I’m terrible at aiming my abilities so I usually get dooked on. If they made it more like WoW PvP I think it would be more fun.
The more you kill the more plunder you get, the more plunder you get the faster you level. People were saying you get 800ish winning but even without winning I was hitting that number from just PvP focus, and winning was threatening 1k but I also had to avoid PvP early game because I got bullied out of spawn, made up for it.
This isn’t a PvP event. It’s a PVE event with PVP stapled onto it like a long forgotten red-headed step child.
The ONLY reward for pvping is getting to stay in the match longer- None of the rewards are actually gained from pvping and it’s just to distract you from doing the main objective, which, let’s face it, IS JUST GETTING PLUNDER.
Yeah, I’m forcing myself to do it. No, I really don’t want to. I want the cosmetics. This is going to be the third worst grind I’ve done in any video game, ever.

You CAN get plunder just by doing PvP. So, whats up with that?
You don’t like it? Totally Fine. I don’t like events with PvP in it either lol but just dont go out and about saying this isnt pvp at all.
You are the Battle Royale player who loots every loot location, even the clear already picked clean location, then dies 25 mins to the first person they see, aren’t you?
It isn’t designed for wow pvpers in the slightest. It really is just another battle royal game, just with a wow skin. I think I’d enjoy it more if it were wow pvp but it just isn’t.

Oh, sorry, I was under the impression that killing other players rewarded ZERO plunder. If you can get plunder by killing other players, the PvP argument makes more sense. But you get plunder just by running over it, so did you get plunder by killing or was it just a side effect of your focus?
That said, I did not say the only way, I said the best way, like say each player killed increases the plunder you get from the sources that provide it. Currently the most efficient way (last I checked) was to complete quest, die/get killed and requeue into the next.
PvPers did not ask for this. Although this is a player vs player event this is not real WoW PvP, this is essentially a different game, accessible through WoW. Real WoW PvP is in desperate need of reform and has received nothing but sub-par Class Tuning from some clearly very out of touch individuals.
Please don’t give people the idea that this is a checked box for something PvPers were looking for or in need of. This game mode is accessible to all, immensely different from Real WoW PvP and is both enjoyed and disliked by PvEers and PvPers alike.

I don’t know why PVPers would like this. It’s not Wow PVP. It’s not even WoW. If this was a real battleground that we could play with our own characters it would be amazing. But this separate mini game isn’t anymore WoW than Warcraft Rumble is.

WoW PVPers aren’t happy with it, no, but you have to aim and time your abilities properly so that might be why.
No one would have a problem if the content wasn’t so heavily rewarded. 3 mounts and 3 pets !

uh. What differentiates a pve and pvp cosmetic? These cosmetics are awarded from PvEvP so aren’t they both?
