The rewards come from a mode with PvP in it they are not PvE cosmetics.
What makes cosmetics pvp or pve? Do you get mad if you don’t get the 1800 rating pvp cosmetic tier set?
It’s the limited time nature of this that I think is causing the uproar from the collections crowd, Rigatoni. If it wasn’t time limited they’d mostly be ignoring it like many already do with all of the other PvP mogs, mounts, etc.
But, then, people would be waiting in queue for too long, so they needed to coerce that camp into the “big” launch.
Thankfully rather than being mad at Blizz for pitting the players against each other in this way, the players are instead eating each other alive while paying and engaging with the new content. Win/Win for Blizz.
You played it yet or still just enjoying the bonfire?
I think it could be more the best (or at least efficient) way to get the rewards is counter to the winning.
Like you have to kill or be killed if you are trying to win, but if you are just after the rewards it is better to do one thing (the quest) then get die and join the next.
Yes the mode has PvP in it, but if the most efficient way to get the rewards is to avoid PvP at least till you do your quest if not as long as possible, what does that say about the rewards being based on PvP?
I think it is more how it is earned, in this case if the rep and such were tied to winning, it would be a PvP reward, but it is tied to just plunder, the PvE aspect.
Why can’t we have both? A few options would be a toggle that turns off pvp, you could hire guards that put you into pve mode, or have the innermost area the pvp zone while the out area pve.
The biggest disappointed is jumping in and having someone just randomly attack you in just a few minutes. Then you need to wait through a loading screen and then wait to get back again just to repeat it again.
There’s no reward for killing anyone, so it just plaers who enjoy killing other players.
I only participate in solo content these days with that main focus being on PvP.
I’ll never understand a person raging against content in a game because they don’t want to participate in it. From my perspective that person should seek therapy and learn to let other people enjoy things.
I get all the plunder you collected if i kill you. That’s the reward, a quicker grind.
See, we are getting mixed messages here, some say killing others provides zero plunder, others say you get their plunder if you kill. Could what is going on be if you go for the early kills you get zip (as they don’t have any plunder to begin with) and you only get it late game when most of the plunder has already been gathered?
It sure is! But this isn’t an event in retail. This is a separate game mode. You can’t hang out with our guild, you don’t even log into retail.
I think it’s great they made a new game mode and I think it should be its own game for people to enjoy!
It shouldn’t have been called a patch for 10.2.6, though.
Blizz tried something new and both PvE and PvP community is in shambles lol (I have no love for multi million company, they can certainly do better in alot of aspects)
No one hates WoW more than WoW players. This is something I have finally learned lol Even insulting others who play the same game.
I am muting this, yall can fight with each other lol
I am gonna go enjoy my time playing the game I love. Avoiding the content that doesn’t cater to me and playing what I like.
Peace.
please explain a “PVE” cosmetic to us all
This is targeted at one type of PvP’er and one type only.
Open World PvP.
Wait I heard there’s nothing for killing players? It been one of the main points of some posters to give Plunderstorm a positive spin.
Or is it just my spells you getting?
To be fair, they’ve been waiting like a decade for most of the stuff they want so they’re probably just dead inside anyway.
It could easily be you get nothing or very little from early kills but later, after most of the plunder has been gathered, you could get a lot from them.
In essence the topic of “it is pointless to PvP/kill players till late game” could have hit the nail on the head more then some realize.
What? Do you consider tier sets PvE cosmetics? Cause there’s PvP exclusive and time limited ones. While the sets gotten from raid are available long after the raid has ended, and now with how gear leveling is, you don’t even have to step into the current raid on mythic to get the mythic appearances (you still have to do M+ in the case, sure, but the tier sets are from raids… that you don’t even actually have to step foot into for appearances due to the catalyst).
I wanted the Elite monk set this season, I hate arena, you know what I did to get it? Solo shuffle! I’m still working on getting the priest set in 2s.
Plunderstorm isn’t strictly PvE or PvP, it’s not giving “PvE cosmetics” or “PvP cosmetics,” it’s giving Plunderstorm cosmetics.
Haven’t seen an event added for WoW PvPers, which one you talking about?
Exactly. It’s fine for people to have things. And it’s even fine for them to give rewards if you can grind it out.
I would be very, very angry if you had to win, place, or show (top 3) to get renown, though. That would be legit not okay.
Do you want the pet but really hate the event? Good news everyone! So does everyone else, so if you buckle down and do it, your snail will be even more special.
There’s nothing in pve that’s hidden away from pvp players. You can always go farm old content and one shot everything to get mounts and titles. PvP already has a lot of exclusive things, THIS should have had a pve option.
I am. In fact, I’d rather play Plunderthingy to arena. My favourite are 80 person BGs though.
