Pure, unadulterated copium
Why do you say that when you clearly have no idea? Most players above 2400 have 100-200 rounds this Season with an average of 55% winrate because they started the season with 2400+ MMR because of either Season 1 or 2 rating. They climbed in the first week of season.
A fresh character starts the season at 1500 mmr. The only way to climb is to consistently win 5-6 each shuffle, with a winrate of 55% it will take you AT LEAST 1,000 rounds to get to 2400.
It doesn’t matter how good you are, the only way to consistently get 5-6 is to be on a ridiculously OP class (e.g. DH in week 1), otherwise you lose rounds for things out of your control.
Because this might have been the case week 1, but I highly doubt it’s the case now
I will admit I haven’t qued a single RSS this season on any of my characters. Got 1600 week 1 in 2s on 3 toons for the tier piece and have just completed the weekly quests for cap since
I didn’t que a single RSS game on my ret last season, so I’ll que some this weekend to test the theory
In my lower brackets, the melee will single-mindedly gap-close to get to my portal, and chase around pillar until they can get back to mashing on me. Which means I’m not doing damage while I’m breaking los, and they WILL just catch up again.
So my next uneducated question becomes, what do I do with this freedom when they’re still just going to get close again asap?
I mean this is sort of the fundamental issue with solo shuffle and the idea that anything should be balanced around it, or balancing around players that are too inexperienced.
Realistically, the answer is that while you are running away, your other DPS is basically just doing a damage rotation on their backside, and your healer should be falling back to top you off before you go back to face tanking damage for another ~9 seconds and using instant casts to farm and spend soul shards, or spread immolate until you stack up ritual of ruin and set up cross CC as a team for go for your big chain of chaos bolts.
But when you’re playing with uncoordinated randoms at low rating with comps that don’t necessarily synergize well, you’re not gonna get that kind of assistance.
I felt this tbh.
I’m doing 2s to get 1800 set and not touching arena again until DH, WW, and Rogue gets nerfed.
Quite literally almost cried last night bc of the damage this season brought lol.
Thanks for the insight.
I think maybe I’ll just stick to melee
For 2s just play what everyone else is playing, BM/Rdru. They can’t damage you if they can’t play the game.
don’t pretend like dk healer isn’t just as boring. Hey it’s ww/arms + healer the dk lost! Hey it’s (literally anything else) the dk wins!
I refuse to play a spec that requires no skill.
I have been shadow/holy for 4 years, I will be shadow/holy for another 4.
Good thing no one asked you. Jfc. They can be nerfed when WW/DH damage is brought in line.
I wouldn’t go that far. The top 5 dps over 2400 are all melee. Even feral has more players up there than demo lol
From what I can see from the ladder, Holy Priest seems to be the 2nd best healer in 2s. Just don’t know what they play with – probably a WW monk.
im typing a reply and its a good reply because all the other replies are bad
Death Sweep for DH meta form is f-ing bullsh*t. Nerf that to the ground. No excuse for 190k aoe hits for any melee class. Period.
This… This… This 10,000%. I just got out of a lobby that was:
Me (aff)
DH
MM
Enh
…
I had to spend literally entire lobby running for my life because I have zero reliable means of getting melee off me. I had to drop Mortal Coil long ago for HoT because every other lobby is just me vs a group of hard ilitterate melee monkeys who spend the whole match training on me. I have ONE instant CC, lasts about as long as the GCD that was used to pop it… everything… E V E R Y T H I N G else is casted. Teleport AND gate use have cooldowns, my entire kit other than Soul Rot is one school so every single interrupt stops me from doing THE ONE THING I NEED TO/ AM SUPPPOSED TO DO… which is CC peel them.
I don’t even care so much about the damage, what NEEDS to happen is Melee gap closers/cast stops need to be nerfed. That, or start making more of our CCs instant or at least not tied all to the same magic school. It is absolutely ridiculous.
