Every day something being removed at this point the things i loved and had memories of are vanishing. Humor is being pulled left and right from this game. The emote changes are the end for me.
I’m sad about this. This brought so much character to this game, gave it so much life. That isn’t the case anymore. Emote talk done.
I want to talk about the paintings, sylvanas/jaina top change.
The same people preaching for women’s rights are preaching to cover it up! Not the case for everyone but it’s turning into this.
Why would you think a woman being confident with her body showing some skin is offensive? I don’t get that. Cover it up? Has anyone seeing WAP by Cardi B or even Wild by Normani… (I’ll add a decent music reference Florence and the Machine Big Blue Beautiful so much nudity and raw emotion.)These women are happy to be beautiful and be sexy, it’s part of our culture and who we are as humans. Why is sex and beauty being censored, seriously? They fought hard in the music industry to get in a place like that and now the same people fighting for that freedom is calling it degrading to women… This is all truly such a vicious cycle and it sucks not just with WoW but EVERYWHERE.
They are treating this game like it is rated E for everyone. Shame. Glad FF is made in Japan.
Their actions are more than taking jokes and flirts away. Removing cleavage… This is doing more harm than good and it’s not behind the scenes work… The stuff they are removing is making headlines and people are laughing about it, not praising it. I hope the judge has some sense. That’s all I’m going to say.
Funny that you mention this because comic sales have been dying in the West and publishers rattle on about “print media is dying” but a lot of people still love Manga. They’ll justify their incompetence with anything except the fact that manga produces better quality since it’s not trying to pander or win some SJW Academy Award.
I don’t know much about Manga or Anime, I do love FF I have been a fan of not only that, but nintendo since I was a child. Had the first nintendo.
I do love the artwork some of the anime artists etc bring to the table, truly some amazing stuff. I’ve just never really got into it - I like actual person actors in what I watch, I really don’t watch anything animated besides well video games
Sex is a form of individual power and expression. Many eras of history, ancient and more modern, have tried to control it. What terrifies me is how effectively they’re changing the beliefs of the youth on this issue.
I hear terms like male gaze. It’s always the same rhetoric, but the end goal is the same. Cover up those female bodies. Because an authoritarian culture represses individual expression.
I had a frank conversation with my mother that has stuck with me for god…like two and a half decades? She explained to me that she went through a phase where she mourned what she’d lost. She’d been beautiful, and then she got old, and it really impacted her ego.
She became conserative and religious, and wanted to police other women’s bodies. She wanted them to cover up, and to remove smut. In her words…it was because they had power she didn’t have. She felt that the religious right was largely comprised of people who were bitter, and people who were gullible.
Today we see the movement arising in a different area, but it’s people who are bitter, and people who are gullible, all trying to enforce the same power over women’s bodies.
I feel so naive. As someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s I genuinely thought we’d won…the fight was over. I had no idea how far, and how quickly the pendulum could swing.
For men not much have changed in regards to sex. Older men are not really interested in policing younger men, not interested in keeping them from showing off those nice gym-gains, nor are other men really interested in it. At worst men would just shrug and find it weird and then go on about the day.
People say there are no big differences between the two sexes… but all things considered, it seems there are indeed a big difference between the two sexes, not just in typical traits, such as risk-taking, assertiveness and all that fun stuff, but in how we perceive the world around us and how we consume media.
I think it’s way less complicated than that. Blizzard is still blaming the playerbase. Surely we should have recognized the awesome intricacy of design and opportunities for casuals to go full hardcore and become elites, and the game would be totally on track and returning it its previous glory, when everyone was a hardcore raider and belonged to top guilds.
It’s our fault, and we are being punished by removal of our favorite things, just like a petulant parent would break a child’s favorite toy because he was late to dinner and then tell the child he forced the parent to do that.
