It's 2025 and Tol'vir Archaelogy still sucks

It would be fun IF we could target the culture we’re after. Which they did with Mantid Relics.
As a consequence that ONE quality of life improvement, I have found EVERY Mantid Pristine Relic.

But at the same time? It’s absolute rank bs to have to spend 12-24 hours farming Mantid Relics (50 Artifact Fragments) to get 4 Tolvir Fragments. And ‘maybe’ a Hieroglyph. Oh and thanks to all the bots? Tolvir Keystones are 10000+ gold a piece. Which means if you really want a ‘shot’ you need to buy tokens. Which also means Tol’vir Archaelogy is quite likely illegal in Belgium and Netherlands under current laws governing loot boxes as that is what it essentially is.

As it stands I’ve been at this for 4 days. I’m after one item now. Just one.
And all I get despite Blizzard saying repeats do not happen and rares have a chance to drop?

Anyone who has done Tol’vir still will tell you this is accurate.

Archaelogy / Tol'vir Rare Bugged:

So I’ve done approximately 100+ Tolvir solves now, and I’ve discovered an error. Grey items are popping up in the “rare solves” tab of the profession. I have corresponded with the GM Dept and I have also sent multiple screenshots of the matter in. I believe what is happening is that the game is trying to give me the final rare solve, but it is being replaced by a grey item again and again. Thank you for your patience while your ticket was waiting to be answered and I hope that this message finds you well this evening. I am sorry to hear of the frustrations that you are experiencing with getting the last Tolvir solve.

For your question about what the chance is to get the last rare that you need solved, this is considered internal information and not something that we are able to give out.

This sort of reply came off as…

“We know this is basically a slot machine. We don’t feel comfortable telling players what the odds are, or if the machine actually can hit the jackpot as we claim; as if we did divulge that information we could land in seriously hot water.”

I mention it here only so other players can make informed decisions on the matter and understand that not only does it appear that Archaelogy is bugged, but the deck has been intentionally rigged folks. I feel pretty confident in saying that, because if Blizzard won’t reveal what the odds of getting the last Tol’vir rare on your list is supposed to be, when it appears a bug is happening… Well, one can only speculate and guess on the true reasons they will not reveal such information.

The conclusion in either case is neither good, nor with any sort of care for player experience in mind.
And they wonder why so many people mistrust them now.
