It's 2024...and Flamestar Post is still trolling Alliance players

Flightpath from Flamestar Post in Burning Steppes to Stormwind.
Starts you off heading north in the wrong direction. Then you continue flying completely across the next zone, Searing Gorge, before making the 180 to head south, back across the entirety of Searing Gorge, and then back across the entirety of Burning Steppes.
Only thing I can figure is that whoever coded that made it an in-game break time flight for BR Mountain raiders back in the day.

not even gonna lie chief I don’t think I’ve even used a flight path in retail in like 4+ years.

Oh wait more like a year or two. I blacked out how shadowlands forced you to take flight paths into every zone -_-

It’s become more obvious to me since they changed everything around whilst leveling.
I kind of miss those zones where you used to get obliterated by venturing into them a too low of a level. Like making those suicide runs down through Stranglethorn to get to Booty Bay to get to Kalimdor.

I only use the FP when I know I’m going to afk for the next 5 mins.

Flight paths that forcibly fly you through Oribos even during peak hours when it’s a laggy mess… yeah I hated that long ride too, it made flying feel pointless as it didn’t cut down on the slow trip between zones

This alone for me is why Shadowlands was trash. Screw the complaining about the story, things about covenants, having to commit to certain builds, the maw ect. Think of all the lost time because of the stupid flight path routes.

I reallllllllllllllllly doubt Blizzard is putting any time or effort into tweaking flight paths…talk about burning dollars to save pennies.

Very soon we’ll have superior dragonriding outside of DF zones anyway. Flight paths are literally just for the lazy/afk goober anyway.

You don’t have flying until level 30 (currently).
The rebuttal I expect to hear is “You can reach level 30 in just a couple of hours or less!”
True, but it doesn’t change the fact that Flamestar’s flightpath to SW takes 3 times as long as it should.

Again, where is the return on investment? Are you going to try and attempt to delude me into believing this is some massive problem causing the Alliance leveling experience to come crashing to a halt and thus in dire need of emergency fixes?

I legit would even be surprised if a non BfA or DF flightpath even gets triple digit uses over a WoW week for any given server.

Half the flight paths in Pandaland do the same thing. You should see what happens in the vale when the n’zoth phasing kicks in. You land and the flight master instantly despawns lol.

Wasn’t the whole point of people loving swim flying is you just point yourself in the direction you want to go and sitting back? Why bother with the flight point you don’t like?

Thunder bluff route likes trolling Horde too.

By not being able to fly for the first 30 levels of it? The path from Ghostlands to Stratholme is trollish as well. Goes all the way to the chapel, going through the target fp, just to fly back.

No, it’s because those flightpaths were hard coded in the beginning and then Cata added a bunch of new ones, but they didn’t change the hard coding of having to fly the original paths. So some of those new flight points in Cata are just a mess. That isn’t the only one half backwards.

Same thing happened to the Jade Forest flight to Timeless Isle.

Which is the most egregious one? I’m bored and kinda wanna do this now.

A lot of instances where you’re missing a fp but the game still let’s you go makes it terrible. For example I’m seeing a reddit post here that shows a flight path going from Dalaran to west grizzly hills, but the flight it takes brings player all the way to southern howling fjord first, because they don’t have the connecting fp in zul’drak.

At first, the game would have just not let you use the fp, as you can see in classic wow right now (can’t go from ashenvale to ratchet unless you have the azshara fp) At some point I guess they allowed missing the connecting fp, but the paths they take must be hard coded in a certain way that it doesn’t make sense otherwise.

Shadowlands never happened. That’s what I always tell myself.

I don’t think it’s a major investment to enter a new plot for a flightpath. You’re just entering new values, not creating a zone.

Stupid flight path routes and the fact the portal system in covenants didn’t solve the problem it just sent you halfway as it dumps you at Oribos instead of giving you portals to the other zones instead
