On two characters so far, there have been two bags that only have blank gray squares where items shoukd be. It isnt the whole bag either. Just a part of it. I can pull the otem out and will show up. Put it back in and it is just a gray square.

Are you using a bag addon?
I’m having the same issue with the combined backpack. I open the combined bag and get a large empty grey rectangle. If I convert to separate bags, all of my items show up.
I’m not using a bag addon.

On one character it is a main bag, on another, a bag in the bank.
Also having similar problem. Most of the items show up when I go back to separate bags, but not all. If I move the items out of certain slots I can see them again, but it’s like those slots are just dead spaces now. Not using a bag addon. Just started with the update, so I’m sure it’s related to that.
I’m also having this issue. I’ve made sure there are no add-ons running, and have also renamed the WTF, Cache, and Interface folders so they were remade when the game launched. I’m not using combined bags (default UI option). It appears to be affecting the Collector’s Carryall bag, at least for me. Not sure if others have that bag equipped, too.

All of my bags are separate with no bag addons. I disabled the addind I do have and the bag is still messed up. I have a picture, but I’m not sure if I am allowed to add one.

I’m having issues with this as well… Also having items i’ve sold weeks ago show back up but can’t be clicked on and are taking up an item slot. I’m so confused on how that works.

I made a post of my own about this. The only bag that is having issues for me is the bag slotted next to my reagent bag. It’s an Azureweave Expedition Pack, just like all my other bags. It’s a section of my bag that seems to be a deadzone where it won’t show the item or has a different icon. Mousing over a spot will reveal what it really is. Not using any addons or combining of bags. If I open that bag up by itself it shows icons of stuff in my other bags but when you mouse over them it shows them to be different items.

If you’re still having this problem, it stopped for me after I used the default bag sort then deleted old SL conduits that were in my bags, was doing the same thing for me too

You, sir, are a wizard. It fixed one character and I am trying to figure out who had the messed up bank bag to fix the other. (I have a lot of alts).
Same… and don’t thank me, thank Sniv, she was the one who problem solved the heck out of it. Lol
It was the conduits. The forge system didn’t recognize them to put them in the forge. I didn’t want to discard them because I’m doing Shadowlands now. But I was getting a multipage LUA error every time I opened the bag, tried to sell or discard an item. I managed to put them in the bank, where I can’t see them.

I was about to test the conduits the other day but when I was going to the problem was already fixed. Thank goodness.
