I recently looted https://www.wowhead.com/item=238031/veiled-manta-vest (hero, 701) in Manaforge Omega. It said BOE, but when I got back to Dornogal, it said it was Warbound. After opening a ticket, I was told this is not actually supposed to ever be a BoE item and to open this bug report. This seems odd to me as the item is listed as BoE on several sources and several of them are in the AH.
Generally means you right clicked it to learn the appearance. Also would’ve happened if you sold it accidentally and bought it back.
I just had a look, and the ones on the AH are somehow also listed as BoP.
Not sure how people are putting them on the AH when they’re labelled as BoP, or how they’d even think to list them.

Ah, you’ve fallen for the classic blunder of looking at the base tooltip where it says “Items in this group may vary in stats and appearance. Check the auction’s tooltip before buying.” All the individual listings show as BoE, it’s just the base category that is showing BoP. I believe this is the case for all the trash drops from manaforge omega.
