Items become trash so fast, what is the point?

GW2 is good. I should go back to it.

That’s by accident, not by design though.
It was designed to be replaced by any Heroic+ raid ring.

Legion had the legendaries (best iteration of legendaries in the whole story of the game) you got at the very beginning remain good until the end of the expansion.

That is the point. I am not saying everything should be usable forever, but some key items should be. Hearth of Azeroth is the best example.

ya i was just being cheeky since its mostly just healer specs in m+ where thats the case. think most dps can replace it eventually. the ring with the healing stones setup isnt like that

Its also one of the most flamed items in existence.

I want new content. I just don’t want the content to be “old” so fast in terms of giving items that are not usable or at least upgradeable throughout the expansion. But I give up, it seems I cant express myself very well, and no one is agreeing with me. The problem is me, it is not so fun, very complex game.

im glad hoa isnt relevant because i didnt play bfa and catching up on content that was a grind when it was current doesnt seem too fun

its annoying for players continuing but convenient for players returning

There are multiple MMOs with “horizontal” gear progression now. It’s a WoW issue, not an MMO issue.

Also, surprised that TC considers 6 months to be “fast”

Some people like to waste their time!

One reason is that they dont want players to go back to previous xpacs for items and want them to play the current one. If HoA would still be a thing then everybody would need to go back to BFA and farm certain items for it. Or even worse Azerite.

Unless you want to replace it with more powerful powers/essences in the newest xpac. In which case you may use an entirely different item to begin with. However these systems have been flamed so hard and the playerbase is fed up with it.

That’s not how they all work. In ESO, you reach max level. Then you stop. Gear is now scaled to your level. You then make a build with champion points, which are granted every time you level for the next 600 times. But your gear? Gear scales to your class level. Therefore, you get to keep and use what you farm. Having a reliable set of set bonuses to use powers for different content. Like endgame power ranger suits for the long haul. Never goes out of style.

So you’d rather have the neck slot locked off and never touched again? I’d say that would be even worse than throwing it away after it’s served it’s purpose.

No, you could use many items, but if you have the Hearth of Azeroth (HoA) it should be upgradeable in new expansion. But not an obligatory item. People that have it would continue upgrading if they want. But we could have other items equivalent in power, and maybe upgradeable too. Or items that are not upgradeable and are porwerful for some time. What I want to say is that some items should remain usable. Anyway, this discussion is complex…

By this train of logic, everyone’s life is pointless because you’ll never do anything permanently impactful so don’t bother living.
Play the game because it’s fun. That’s your motivation. I get a dopamine hit every time I get an upgrade so I keep running higher stuff to keep that dopamine train going.

So nobody would use it. Unless you want to gimp yourself and people raise an eyebrow when they see it. Otherwise it becomes bis and runs into aforementioned issues to a point where keeping it is pointless.

Nothing on earth stays forever
But none of your deeds were in vain
Deep in our hearts you will live again
You’re gone to the home of the brave

Why waste living when you’re just going to die eventually?

So we experienced things. For memories. For friends. For fun.

Just play ESO sounds more like your game. I still use sets from expansions that released 2-3 years ago.
