Itemization feedback

With itemization, we’re always looking for opportunities to create moments of excitement

Year after year people tell you they don’t like this, yet you insist on continuing with this Diablo style loot philosophy that no one likes.

You’re talking for everyone? Pretty sure I’m not in your group of “no one”.

The moment of excitement IS what makes RNG tolerable and acceptable. We don’t want a game where all you need is money to go buy something in a store. I do that in real life. I don’t need a shopping game.

Blizzard has excellent game designers - the longevity of players is a testament to that fact. That you’re still playing and complaining about loot defies your statement.

Blizzard, used to have excellent game designers. If anything, the reason the game is still alive, is because of long time players don’t want to drop it.

Back on topic, the general consensus from in game to forums with WoW as the topic is, no one like RNG on top of RNG. When everything we do is RNG focused, it dilutes the experience between “meh”, excitement, and jealousy.

They used to be good. They used to be the top of the class and lead by example. Not anymore though.

Excellent game designers who over the course of a few years tanked this game’s subscriber numbers basically in half, and pretty much have been coasting on the art and good will of the franchise’s fanbase ever since.

Also, I don’t play retail. I guess you could say I’m subsidizing your terrible game.

Exactly. WoW has been around for 15 years now. How many MMO’s have come and gone in that time? I think the game designers are pretty good.

If it’s so terrible why are you here posting on it’s forums? Paying for it?

Thank you for paying for a game I like to play.

EVE Online stands to be older and up there in the test of time. FFXIV is also approching the 10 year mark; however, instead of living in the bad design they created, they scrapped it and started over.

Not many MMOs are even around for 5 years. Just because WoW is, doesn’t mean the developers are good.

We’re not allowed to criticize a game while playing?

Truth be told, the system sounds like it could go somewhere but knowing Blizzard’s track record it’ll be nothing but RNG layered on top of more RNG just like the old system was. No way to aim for the gear you crave save to spam until your eyes bleed for the rest of the expansion. No way to put the corruption on yourself.

At least we can cleanse it, but it’ll be gone next expansion anyways so there’s no real reason to give a toss about it.

The person I responded to already said she doesn’t play it.

WoW is not a slot machine.

They’d have to drastically cut down on the plethora of loot sources to reduce the RNG in loot.

Having easy loot for alts/the “casual” player is also something a ton of people want.

Can’t have loot thrown at you and it easily be your BIS at the same time.

Retail certainly is now.

Speak for yourself, that´s awesome. Only Sith think in absolutes and only elitists want flat BIS definitions.

Define excitement. It was way more exciting for me when I killed Saurfang in ICC and got Deathbringer’s Will because I knew I just got my best in slot trinket and nothing would replace it. I have exactly 0 455 socketed pieces with avoidance so it’s hard to get excited when your best piece will actually never drop.

You’re still using it?

Actually, you can and FFXIV is the perfect example for it. Blizzard, just doesn’t for some reason, even after the criticism of said system for years.

We really should be asking Blizzard, what’s wrong with getting BiS, even if the loot drop rate decreases? A lot of people would rather play alts than keep farming on their mains.

from some, not all.

Yeah, actually I used it yesterday in Timewalking.
