Item upgraded primal gear does not qualify for revival Catalyst

bought the 359 chest item, then went to the upgrade vendor to make it 385. after this went to the Catalyst… and it is not an eligible season 1 item.
Am I wrong in reading that the upgraded storm gear was suppose to be able to be turned into tier?

You are not wrong. It should be able to upgrade into a tier item as long as you have a catalyst charge to use for it.

The catalyst charges also seem to bug. I did the quest for week two and should have two, but it only displays one. Not sure if that is part of it.

I tested it with an upgraded primal storm item the first week, and it did show it as eligible and showed me what it would have turned into for tier.

If it no longer works I would say it is a bug.

Primal Storm gear is eligible, because I’ve turned two pieces into tier. Try resetting your UI, delete your cache folder. All of the usual suspects.

primal storm gear bought from the merchant before the change is eligible… the gear upgraded at the gear vendor seems to be the culprit

I’m having the same issue here. The chest piece I bought after the latest patch can not be upgraded but all my other pieces can. This is not a reset your UI issue or deleting the cache issue. This is something that has changed with the patch and how they changed how these items upgrade.

There have been several reports in this forum that primal storms chest pieces are not working.

I have received a reply from my ticket on the issue and the GM said they do not have a confirmed bug but they do see numerous reports from other players on the issue and it has been forwarded to the devs.

I’m starting to believe the devs don’t actually read these forums and only look at the in-game bug reports.

Just upgraded a pair of gloves to Primal Infused and wasn’t able to change it into tier. I can upgrade all my other Primal Infused stuff, but not that one. Good times.

Yup, still bugged. Not sure if at this point they plan to fix it or just ignore it until people move on.

Aaaaaand Still bugged after the patch.

This still hasn’t been addressed, apparently. Has there been any acknowledgement from Blizz that this is being looked at?

Blizzard already issued a hotfix, but it applies only to newly upgraded items and not retroactively to items you upgraded before the hotfix. (The newly upgraded items may have a new or different ID than if you had upgraded them before the hotfix.)

I submitted a ticket, but they replied that they can’t change my items to ones that can be catalyzed without losing gem sockets and tertiary stats, and they can’t catalyze my gear for me because the secondary stats will be different.

I replied that I don’t mind losing tertiaries and will take whatever secondary stats are on the catalyzed pieces, but it has been days now with no response.

Still bugged 21st february. I have a 421 polearm from bloody tokens which won’t let me enchant of transmog it.

If this is true its such a joke that6 they hot fixed an issue but not for pieces already purchased and upgraded

I have a feeling that items upgraded before and after the hotfix have different IDs (rather than the hotfix changing anything about previously upgraded items).

It might take a few days, but I suggest opening up a ticket and requesting a Trophy of Strife refund on specific bugged pieces if you don’t mind losing any tertiary stats or sockets.

Thank you. I appreciate your reply. I believe someone posted a reply from a GM that they cannot replace items. I think I will just wait until I have enough sigils again to upgrade a new piece but I just feel if this is what they did, and how they chose to fix the issue, its wrong. They should have taken into consideration those who have already made the purchase and upgrade.

I had to file a ticket twice. The first time, they said they cannot replace items because I would lose tertiary stats and gem sockets, and they cannot catalyze for me because the secondary stats will be different.

Then I filed a second ticket saying that I don’t mind losing tertiary stats or gems, and that I was intending to catalyze for the set bonuses and appearances. I emphasized that Trophies of Strife were timegated by the quest, and it would take weeks to make up for the currency I had wasted.

In the end, they destroyed my bugged items and refunded the un-upgraded Drakebreaker pieces and Trophies of Strife. It might take a few days for a response, but I would recommend that you ask for the same (item destruction and restoration with currency refund) if you don’t mind losing the bugged items.

5 hours ago they posted a support article only partially acknowledging part of this problem.

They acknowledged 2/2 gear can not be tier forged, and are working on a fix.

They did not acknowledge that it also can not be transmogged or enchanted, which worries me a lot.
