Item Restoration unusable for a frequent "Scrapper"

I made a small mistake today with items and went to recover them, and found the Item Restoration service to be completely unusable.

Troubleshooting:
Incognito mode.
Different browsers.
Different PCs.
(I do not own a smart phone so I cannot try a mobile browser)

Same result on every attempt, an unresponsive page that wouldn’t complete loading. This only happens with my two characters that do excessive bracer-shuffling and economic activities. I cannot even interact with the filter before the page becomes unresponsive.

Heading into Shadowlands, many more people may end up needing to use the Item Restoration service after a long period of not needing it. Anyone who has engaged with a ‘crafting shuffle’ is going to be entirely locked out of the service without significant changes to the system prior to things. The single-page format on items NEEDS to be disabled.

Surprise edit: I tabbed back to a page I opened around 20 minutes ago, and it had finally stopped being unresponsive, hooray! Still far from ideal to deal with that much lag and delay on the system. Is there anything that can be done to the nature of the IR service to make it more useful for people who have literally over 10,000 items on said list?

I think the only way you might be able to get this resolved, is by submitting a ticket. If/when you do, explain the problem (short and sweet, but complete), explain that the page is being unresponsive for the most part on your computer, and list the items that you are looking for by name.

They may be able to help you out, but it’s not a guarantee, as they see what you see.

Next time you are scrapping loads, I’d suggest you put whatever you want to keep in a locked bag (ignore this bag) in your bank or put them into the void storage.

This problem goes beyond that (and usually I’m quite careful about not disenchanting when I have auctions to relist) and instead is meant to address the future issues that ALL people who HAVE used the scrapper a lot will face. Or even people who have done vendor shuffles recently.

If there’s thousands of items in our recovery list, it will take a huge chunk of time for the page to finally resolve. My computer isn’t a wussy one, leading me to believe that most people will end up with this problem if their game habits are similar and then end up needing to restore.

Again, it apparently did work, but it took upwards of 10-20 minutes for the page to decide it didn’t need to load more. It would be much better if we could either set the filter before loading ANY items, or if we could return to a page format. I’ve always hated the processing style of endless-scroll on a desktop anyways, heh.

(Note: I use Easy Scrap and can set it to only scrap greens, which is super nice, definitely recommend it.)

Still finding this to be a major issue. I DE’d some stuff w/o my rod in my bags like a scrub, and went to try to recover them. It absolutely did not load this time. Even waited overnight and it just… sat there.

Using the item recovery system as a heavy scrapper or disenchanter is impossible to do. Please fix this, Blizzard.

Bumping this.

Just had this issue. I accidentally DE’ed one of my equipped rings (was leveling enchanting and mindlessly hit my DE macro instead)

This is only the second time I’ve had to use the Item Restore function. First time was a while ago, worked just fine. This time around I just have a whole page of items that seem to be stuck “loading”.
