Item Restoration req'd items not on the list (and took them)

I used Item Restoration yesterday and it was giving me an error message “missing a small radiant shard”, but no small radiant shards were part of the items being restored. I went through several items, removing and readding, to try and find the item in question. I didn’t find it. I restarted the restoration process and got the same message. I had one small radiant in my inventory, so I sent over a second one to see if it was somehow requiring 2 small radiant shards (again, none of the items being restored had small radiant shards in the refund).

The restoration went through after that, but it ate my two small radiant shards. I would like them returned. Thanks!

Stackable/craftable items can not be restored.

That is not what they are asking about with this post.

They are saying that the restoration stated it was requiring x2 Small Radiant Shard even though those Enchanting mats should not have been part of the restoration’s requirements.

On, my bad, I was looking at the last part of the sentence.

Because when looking at the last part, it does sound like he wants the radiant shards restored, which it why I posted my comment with that.

Just out of curiosity, what was the item(s) that were restored?

It was some pieces of gear that I had sold for gold or disenchanted but restored. The end result on the restoration was 4g87s, 1 small glimmering shard, and 11 small brilliant shards, yet it still took the radiants.

if you restore disenchanted item you are required to have the mats available that you received when you disenchanted them, same as with needing the gold for item sold to a vendor. So stating you needed the radiant shards in your inventory was letting you know that they were needed for one of the items to be restored.

It was not part of the mats needed for restoration. This is not my error, this is a Blizzard error. I hope you understand what has happened here.

When you initially disenchanted the gear, what did you get from them?

Gold, 1 small glimmering shard, and 11 small brilliant shards.

And this is why you needed to have those shards in your inventory. Otherwise, you would have “double dipped”.

Are you meaning that the item restore cost shown on the page didn’t list those as being needed? If so that would be a website bug and best put in over on that forum itself so it can be looked at.

These are the correct shards. It took 2 small radiant shards, however.

To be even more clear:
Needed for restoration:
Approx 5g
1 small GLIMMERING shard
11 small BRILLIANT shard

It took these items AND it took two small RADIANT shards, which were not required or part of the restoration.

Correct. These were not part of the necessary items for restoration to occur. I cannot say whether it was a bug, that is outside my purview. I can only relate what has happened. If there is somewhere else that this should be addressed, please direct me.

The biggest issue is that there are no GMs on the forums. No one can give you back the items you believe you’re owed, as this forum is one for players to assist other players.

You’ll have to submit a ticket for a GM to look into things. You can do that by going here:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/464/ticket

Now, fair warning to you. You will likely receive a templated response at first - this is normal. It is not AI or anything of the sort, but they send it out to give some resources for the cases that can find resolutions without having to wait on a GM to respond. For you though, there will be a button on that templated response with something to the tune of “I still need help!”. Go ahead and hit that, and it will kick it back for a GM to review things.

Also, any ticket timer is a general estimation on the oldest ticket in the system. It is not for YOUR specific ticket. We did see one of our SFAs mention ticket turnaround was at about a week recently, so that is something to keep in mind. They do kind of go haywire with big patches/expansion releases, of which both just happened for Retail and Cata Classic.

Good luck to you.

Ok, thank you. I submitted the ticket. I included screenshots of the items and of my inventory, as well as the timestamps that the restoration occurred by pulling off of the screenshot time stamps.

I appreciate everyone’s help here.

If i remember right at one point the mats got changed for some lower level crafting sounds like its looking for the old version of the mats and not what it is now maybe.
