It’s the same thing as Ninja’ing. If your going to Ninja at least do it like a man.
It’s easy to tell the age of players in Classic. Like with stuff like this. Just saying.
LMAO, it’s not at all the “same thing” … if you ever create a Classic character hopefully you’ll learn the difference.
disagree.
if they say they reserved the item upfront then good on them for letting you know.
you choose if their terms are agreeable.
no one wants “surprise mechanics”.
The entire point of reserving an item before a run is to avoid ninja’ing. If people you are recruiting to the group don’t like it, they have the option to join another group and not have their time wasted. It is effectively an anti-ninja tactic… and there is no such thing as a “manly” ninja either. They are selfish punks who take advantage of other people’s time in order to advance themselves, which is a really good way to earn a garbage reputation.
Dont join groups that reserve items? Or only run with people you trust.
What is the issue here?
Once I start running my warlock tank spec all items will be master looted by me.
Not really if they warn you before the run starts that its reserved and you still go and get mad when they take it…well thats on you , you knew it was comi ng
That sounds exactly like someone who reserves items for themselves before starting a run!
It’s not a Ninja if you announce it to everyone while you’re still making the group.
It gives people a chance to decide if they are OK with it or if they want to bail before they waste their time getting to that boss and killing it for your reserved item.
It’s only a Ninja if you suddenly reserve something in the middle of a run, or worse, in the middle of a boss battle. That’s when it’s a BS move by a Ninja.
Pathetic troll attempt, just good enough to get me to call OP out on it.
Well, with reservations you can atleast not join that group
But when rogue reserves HoJ by looking for tank it’s hilarious
I have no problems with item reservation as long as everyone is clear before going to the instance. Someone may only be running the instance for one item… that’s fine.
I have seen reservations on non-class/gameplay items in the past though, and I have to laugh at those people. Like a guy once tried to reserve the Barons mount IF it dropped. The whole group called him “R” and left, forming a new group without him lol.
How is it possible to read the dumbest thing you’ll read all day on the internet, at 10:15 in the morning?
Stupidity doesn’t recognize time…it’s timeless!
I think the problem is a lot of people don’t tell people they want to reserve an item ahead of time.
They go, “oops. I forgot to tell everyone that I was reserving this item.” … -after they clear the whole dungeon and kill the boss.
THAT is when it’s a NINJA.
EXAMPLE: If the whole time the Loot is set to Group Loot for 99% of a dungeon run and then suddenly the group leader switches it to Master Loot on the last boss, for no apparent reason, you know something bad is going to happen. That’s when they drop the “oh, by the way… I’m reserving X item for myself” line.
Forget?! No, they know, they just think that reserving items make people less likely to join (and it probably does).
So they wait to see if they even make it to the boss they wanna get to, THEN mention all the sudden “Oh hey, I’m reserving this item” and then problems happen.
They don’t “forget”, they lie.
Exactly.
Because most people won’t join a reserve item group in the first place. Gotta lie to get people in the group fatser.
I love the “LF tank such and such item on reserve”.
Yeah those go on for the longest.
What? I’m not even sure what point you are trying to make. And I haven’t personally reserved any gear in any runs yet. Haven’t needed to, since I’ve mostly been fine with just rolling off against people who need the same gear.
