I think I know why some people can’t purchase materials. I think a handful of bots are posting and cancelling Extremely quick and is causing the item to be unavailable.

Possible purpose. Say item (Marrowroot) average price is 17g. Someone has 10 bots. 5 are posting and canceling 1 marrowroot each at 13g. They cancel and post so quickly the item is unavailable. But there is continually 1-5 marrowroot at 13g making people undercut them, The other 5 bots are scanning for marrowroot only at 13g or lower but have blacklisted the other 5 bots as to not purchase its own marrowroot…

Any thought?

I continued to refresh my AH search of marrowroot and there is always 1-7 “available” at a low price but unable to purchase due to it cancelling so quickly

What is your proof that it’s bots, and not just regular players on other servers?

Because its not 1000 items its literally 1-15 items max on fluctuate. The chances of the region wide non bot community posting a total of 1-15 (Widowbloom) @ 14.49 is astronomical. Look at it yourself. Continue to hit refresh on the AH when you have widowbloom up. Anything at 14.49 or lower is eaten instantly.

I don’t know the actual reason the message keeps popping up, but this explanation seems possible. I was eventually able to buy the herbs I wanted at the lowest price listed, though I did have to make repeated attempts. The amounts I put in didn’t seem to make much difference, I think it was just a timing thing.
