‘We do this to make tuning easier for raid’.
Maybe tune the raid with the idea people will be fully mythic plus geared to start and let people work their way up to it?
Just a thought.

Good thing they don’t listen to your opinion then!
So you want them to overtune it and screw up the raid gearing ladder for the red headed stepchild (M+) of this game?
im a heroic raider so we will do normal first while doing mythic plus throughout the week. we move onto heroic when we feel that we are ready to clear it. we continue to do mythic plus until we clear heroic completely.
other people dont do this? i mean, im not saying everyone has to do this, but if they want to clear the raid more eficiently, then thats the way to go.
so to tune the raid in a way that accounts for full mythic plus geared players, just sounds normal to me.
theres an entire game to play with gear from all kinds of sources. dont do it, do do it, doesnt matter to me, but to have parts of the game tuned/timegated in a way because people dont want to play the entire game is just silly to me.
Pretty much how I have been playing the past couple of expansions. Heroic raid is my end game and I will push keys as high or as willing as I can. I usually find the gearing from M+ To help me progress the raid
Here is the thing, they likely do tune it to account for full M+ players, but only if that gear is heroic raid lvl (which is around a +10 from vault).
One reason for the cap might just be so that people can still get upgrades from Mythic when it comes out, raise the ilvl from M+, raise the ilvl from mythic raid.
It’s the psuedo mythic+ analog to raid boss lockouts.
No valor cap is essentially unlimited 272 gear on patch launch only throttled by how hard you can no life the game.
And Blizzard creating raid lockouts from day 1 has made it pretty clear they don’t really want people that play 24/7 to have a massive advantage over those who don’t.

Exactly. Thank you for proving my point. You give everyone the highest M+ gear right now, you’ll be complaining the raid is too easy, because you cleared Normal and Heroic so fast. If they overtune for this, then you’ll complain the raid is too hard.
They aren’t tuning raids around the red headed stepchild of this game. You can wait a week. Just like people told LFR players they can wait a week. See how that works?
1> Not all time-gates are bad.
2> For the time-gates that are not bad, the people yelling the most about them… are exactly the people they are in place for.

Yeah, the old “we have to protect them from themselves” set-up
If that were true, there would be an element of “eventually, they’ll learn.”
Except, they never do. So I don’t know what you call it, short of willful ignorance.
If that were true, there would be an element of “eventually, they’ll learn.”
From my experience, that might be the hope but it never happens because the protection is to the degree they can never learn, like sometimes a kid has to stick their hand on a hot stove/into the fire and get burned before it clicks.
The kid and the hot oven is an OBVIOUS learning experience.
How do you get someone to realize that not all time-gates are bad?
I’m not saying I have the answer, other than to leave certain time-gates in.
im the one who said to tune the raid with full mythic plus gear in mind. of course im not going to complain lol.
i didnt pick up on this with your first post, but i just realized i should be ignoring you anyway. calling mythic plus players red headed step child? lol. im not offended by it but it just shows your opinion is worthless.
I think the issue is that employees are still leaving faster than replacements can be hired and trained. They not only don’t have the capacity to turn out work that isn’t going to be severely time gated, they don’t have the institutional memory that would help them get on the tracks they used to be on. Those people have left.
The only way I can think of, it what Blizzard did at first (no time gates at all) then when the one that complained about it complains about what happens without, I.E. higher ilvl/bigger ilvl gap/etc. NAIL it in to them that it is what they asked for and that with those non-bad time gates, maybe such would not have happened.
calling mythic plus players red headed step child?
I didn’t call players the red headed stepchild. I called Mythic+ the red headed stepchild of this game. Do you understand what that term means?
It’s the odd one out, the one that’s treated differently, sometimes unfairly. In this case, Mythic+ came onto the scene and changed how this game’s gearing ladder works and became the one that’s going to be treated differently, because it’s the odd one out.
The fact that you don’t even understand the term and immediately jump to “OMG YOU INSULTED PEOPLE” shows a lot about you. ![]()
Unless you want to pay (sic) $800 a month, it would be literally impossible to create content so fast as to insure the no-lifers would be “happy.”
And here’s the corollary: assume you just got a bunch of interns and made it happen for free.
You would then have FAR MORE PEOPLE (casuals >>>>>>> no-lifers) who would complain because they would be HOPELESSLY far behind.
You just have to do the right thing, in the face of morons complaining about it: Not all time-gates are bad.
It’s the same reason that end of dungeon loot was dropped a couple of iLevels. Blizz doesn’t want Guilds making stacked groups to trade gear in order to increase their iLevel before Mythic Raids are released.
It’s the price we’re paying for Personal Loot that can be traded.
You still get max ilvl from vault if you do a +15.
