I know they don’t want to talk about it but every midweek maintenance and every updating patch should include information about what’s going on.
At this point I become frustrated and go to the things that have been sometimes years broken to see if they fixed something. It’s times like this I’m happy I’m a proud member of the ‘Who cares?’ club so I can let the 30 day sub expire until it’s fixed.
The dx 12/11 issue is the current bee in my bonnet having to use dx11 in 2025 and degrade the game just to play is unacceptable for me. I’ll not sub for my month if it’s still an unacknowledged issue in 13 days.
Yeah it would be cool if they put out some post once a week that outlined everything they’re doing kind of like the post they currently put out every time they do something.
Hotfixes don’t require servers going down, that’s why they’re “hot.”
This is also why they’re listed, because they happen in real-time.
They do not, as the other poster said, outline what they do during maintenance downtime.
Development Notes on the PTR are different altogether. They’re updated when a new build is pushed to the test realms.
Pretty sure servers still go down every Tuesday and I’m pretty sure half the stuff on those lists are part of what gets handled on Tuesday. Expecting them to give us more details outside of Tuesday is probably unrealistic, but hey, feel free to ask for it.
On the average week it’s probably mostly memory management tweaks, and fixing the odd bit of broken code, so it would likely be boring as heck. But you’re right, it would be cool to know what got fixed.
It would be even more fun if they posted on Wednesday, what broke as a result of fixing the things they told us about on Tuesday.
That’s the major stuff from a tuesday style patch I’m talking about everytime I start the game and it says 'updating. I would like to see a post up0dating us before it goes live.
And even the major tuesday or xpac patch notes haver oodles of known unposted issues that leave subscribers scrambling trying to fix something they can’t.
Yeah. The mysterious crashing and such seems to be mostly gone but did they state what the cause was? what they actually did etc? Nope. I didn’t even know they were working on anything because they never act as though they are even paying attention to anything anyone reports.
