The “follow” portion quest did not complete upon leaving the cave, so I abandoned it. When I went to re-accept it, I could no longer progress because I wasn’t in the prison to break out of.
This is an extremely common issue as the forums suggest, when is this gonna get fixed Blizzard? Countless players can’t play the patch.

Me too, a follow up is bugged, so I dropped it to reset it, when I grabbed it again I can’t progress the escape crystal prison
Same bug for me character:Krisayeth server:thrall. cannot progress quest by escaping the crystal prison after abandoning and picking up quest again

Clawless - Area 52, I am also stuck here and cannot continue with the patch… I also can not put in a ticket about it because it is telling me customer service is down 
Same here, i got stuck and cant move forward, can’t believe that after at list a month of testing the patch, we get this school simple bug as that, it does not even allow us to continue with the campaign. shame on you blizz.

I had the same issue. I just abandoned quest and redid it without a problem.
I think the issue was that the mob was already dead in final phase of quest so I couldn’t clear it the first time around. Hope this helps!
I’m not sure what was causing it, but Blizzard has since mentioned they hotfixed and issue preventing players from receiving credit for the first portion of the campaign, which I assume refers to this very common problem from the first hours of the patch.
I’m stuck on this as well, and so i can’t progress and thus i suspect, WQs won’t unlock.
I hearthed back to Valdrakken and was able to fly through the entire tunnel and out the other side so you’re able to kill rares just can’t cash in one half of the two quests 'til this is fixed Wednesday when devs are up.
Have fun flying around the cavern killing rares tho’!
Yup, confirming that this is still NOT fixed. At least for me. I have tried abandoning quest, re-accepting it multiple times as my GM messaged me to do since they have “hotfixed” it. No matter what, the mobs do not revive/respawn for me and I remain trapped in the ice cage.
