It took less than a year for FF14 hype to die

I… I just can’t… seriously, did you think about what you were posting before you posted it? I mean, I listen to political podcasts while playing, but how can anyone watch a game stream, and play at the same time? If you would rather watch the game than play it, the game really can’t be that good.

Just a reminder that when Hogwarts Legacy comes out, that’s RIP for both WoW and FF.

Also, remember to reroll if you’re not put in Ravenclaw. You won’t be able to truly experience Legacy unless you join the best house.

  1. XIV is boring as tears to watch.
  2. They’re in a lull until mid-April when new patch drops.

Not only that XIV is boring with it’s trash combat.
TBH, there’s just no good MMO’s rn man.

Anduin was a 200 pull boss that only died because Blizzard accidentally disabled a major p3 mechanic…

I mean who wants to watch ff14 when they can experience the game itself.

Everything has a up and down, so what? Elden Ring is the new big hype as expected. And WoW experiences the same thing. Every new wow expansion, its all talked about…many come back…then suddenly leave after a while.

Also one big thing OP - Viewership of games DOES NOT indicate popularity. I’m one of those. I don’t find it fun watching people play FF14. I enjoy PLAYING FFXIV myself. Same for WoW, you could say the rated PVP scene is dead based on viewership numbers but many are keeping it healthy…by…surprise surprise!..playing the game. Not watching others play pvp.

Also sounds like your high on that copium to say “wow reigns supreme”…no it doesn’t, shadowlands lost soooo many players, its crazy. It’s far from “supreme” now.

False, your the toxic one - someone who makes up stupid BS to hate on FF14 with fake news. The community in FF14 is x1000 more positive then WoW’s ever will. Your just finding reasons to hate on that game cause wow copium keeping you going and unable to process wow isn’t the only great MMO out there. And Lost Ark has a ton of FF14 players now too so that’s also false, your making up more fake news.

Exactly. I don’t understand how some people process “viewership = popularity”. They seem to forget most play the game, not watch it.

it’s really not trash combat, sounds like you simply didn’t find the right job for you. I enjoyed the game a lot more when I picked up samurai/dancer/reaper/machinist over the other jobs I didn’t enjoy so much. Their fights are also way more pleasing and enjoyable in terms of creativity, vs wow’s fights…“group up” “split” “run out with aoe” and “interrupt”.

FF14 community is on massive copium , every top games are popular on Twitch . FF14 is the only exception , i wonder why , maybe too much copium

Shadowlands still sold way more copies than Endwalker , we don’t have any data for Endwalker , just 900k pre-order , it’s not even close to SL numbers . Shadowlands sold 3M7 copies in 24 hours , top 2 ever behind Cyberpunk in the gaming industry .

Shadowlands maybe lost a lot of players but they had insane peak the first months , Blizzard make bank on expansion release . In the first 3 months of Shadowlands , they probably made more money than FF in 3 expansion release

This too much positivity end up as toxicity , it’s like a cult , if you don’t want to play their game and play others MMO , they jump at you like Jehova people .

This is going to make me feel old but I really don’t see the appeal of watching other people play an MMORPG

Elden ring is better than all these mmos, wow and ff14 included

MMO are designed to intentionally waste your time and wow used to be the most casual friendly

Nowadays wow is one of the grindiest with the least respect for your time, they gave up their niche to chase cash shop gold

I open the Twitch Chinese ( Douyu ) and i see RWF in the front page , you open the wow category , you have 15 pages of streamers , i open the FF14 category i find nothing , 3 pages max

you did not see Lost Ark , WOW is a joke vs this game

You have to farms x hour or buy in the game store ressources , to gamble everything on gear upgrade ilvl , you have like 10% chance of success

if you don’t have x ilvl , you can’t enter in raids or do the content

one thing to consider is the too top ff14 streamers or on hiatus and once they return the numbers will show again

Because of recent releases of course, even Yoshi-P says it himself: He’s happy if you play for just one month then take a break, and then come back when you feel ready. He doesn’t create the game to be a “hamsterwheel” to keep you grinding infinitely. WoW team doesn’t care about your health, they care about your $$ and shareholder’s graphs to show playtime.

And yes it did, but you miss 2 big things about selling points:

WoW has been out for almost 18 years now - it sold based on name alone and existing for 18 years. And most of that 4m+ copies SL sold, people dropped subs. So in the end, it was easy $$ by selling a brand name then a quality item. FFXIV has been out almost 9 years with the release of 2.0, and sold over a million which is great since it built a positive player base.

And how is being too positive a good thing? Are you saying you want some measure of toxic players? It’s not a cult…I’ve experienced it all first hand and people are genuinly nice. If you don’t have patience or kindness for others however, that’s on you…and something you need to work on, not just in a video game…in life in general. The fact that players give newbies advice on FF14 alone sets it world apart from WoW’s war on newbies who get kicked instead.

And I’ve seen your posts often, you just seem to have some unnatural hatred for the existence of FF14 and it’s beyond normal.
