It took less than a year for FF14 hype to die

This is the ebb and flow of every game, they have some new feature and it brings the hype in and then that hype dies down. The fans what to use that as a indication of the popularity of a game. If it is the most view on a stream then it has to be the most popular game, but they never want to take in the factors behind it. Nor, if a game starts to drop in views do they want to consider that it just going back to it normal popularity, it has to be a sign of it dying.

Nostalgia is a powerful drug. New things suck let’s go back to a time were I though things didn’t suck.

We will have to see what Microsoft has in store for Blizzard. They want to reset it back to when it was one of the most powerful game companies.

You had me at Yeets and Sylvannas.

There’s also vampires in .1.5, but they ended up just being weird blood elves so I threw them out.

? Keeping and growing a playerbase pretty consistently over 9 years without significant dips is actually really uncommon. WoW suffered its first major dip of players at the start of Cataclysm, then three years later somehow managed to lose half of the people playing an expansion in 3 months.

Players come and go yes, this is normal but when you’re losing vast amounts of people at a staggering rate compared to what is considered normal losses in business (losing 20%+ in a small period is considered very extreme circumstances, don’t even get me started on 50%) it shows that this isn’t just nature and there’s more at work here.

I’m thoroughly convinced WoW was never on the list of things they cared about, they pretty much bought it out for CoD and Candy Crush exclusively.

mmm I think Zos wanted WoW tbh. we’ll see.

Yep, I mean the worst possible outcome if the status quo regardless.

So long as we don’t end up with weird undead cowbies, i think we might be ok.

At the basic level I am correct. I was at a Whataburger the other day. I held the door open for a family and some guy come up and got in my face about being woke and how I was ruining the world being nice. I can’t help that others think it something else.

And sorry that you were called racist I can only accept your word you was. But I have been called that because of how I say things at times. No slurs but just my tone “is demeaning” i’ve been told.

As a person who rarely goes out in public due to both being a-social and having severe social anxiety i watch people very closely and I just shake my head on how people treat each other now

Your first problem was going to a whataburger instead of white castle…you heathen.

Sadly Einerus there is no white castles in texas…I wish i love that place

I too know this pain, the closest one is an hour or so away from me…as much as it’s unhealthy I miss those sliders so much.

I was referring to viewership as a indication of how well a game is fairing. Population size would be a more concrete way to prove, nut Blizzard does not show sub numbers anymore.

I am sorry that people treated you this way for just using manners. I think people use woke as a catch all these days. Of course, if the guy who got into your face had been taught any manners, he would have held the door open. But some people did not benefit from having parents who taught them this important skill.

So keep holding the door open for people! There are those of us out there that appreciate people like you!

Shadowland had 7 500 000 subs the first months of SL , they broke sales records too , Shadowlands launch was a massive success .

I’m starting to wonder how many of those numbers are fabricated or botters.

Remember cousin, success doesn’t mean that it was good.

Except the world doesn’t work on the basic premise of things when there’s more at play. When you say “Woke” most people aren’t thinking “Oh, we should just treat other races like human beings or like how I want to be treated.” They’re thinking of the unnatural hair colored people screaming “Whites are evil” and “You didn’t own a slave, but you should still pay money to black people who also were never slaves.” and postulating that because of their skin color that they never earned anything in their life and it was given to them, or stolen from someone “less privileged”, it’s offensive to anybody who grew up poor and had to work for what they presently have.

Every group is going to be defined by its bad actors. It’s the same case with Critical Race Theory, people have connotations of what it is and it’s not something they like, an incumbent favored to keep his seat managed to lose to a literal who over this exact issue a couple months ago because of the negative baggage of the term.

Even more so, look at how the term is being used now. It’s being basically rebranded into something completely different because most people have a sour taste in their mouth over the term and subject. It’s not being changed to be more tolerable, it’s just getting a name change and is now like “Racial Justice Theory” or some family friendly term.

Better be careful with that. Like I said, the purity spiral is in effect. JK Rowling was considered a huge hero because she said she always envisioned Hermione as black. Then a year later to the present she’s essentially the anti-Christ because she holds “unacceptable and intolerant” views regarding gender identity.

It’s already getting to the point of “I’m more pure than you, therefore you’re the problem.” Trust me, I’ve dealt with this. I’ve not deviated at all in my personal politics and 10 years ago I was a center left Liberal. Then the purity spiral kicked into full swing around 2015 and people now think for holding the same views I’m a “far right extremist” because I question the sustainability of some government propositions and worry how it will affect my tax rate.

In the next 5 years, I imagine “woke” is going to be retired as a term because it’s too alienating and people that act in this manner are going to be shunned from society. Even the Liberals who were initially on that side are beginning to distance themselves and openly calling these people crazy lunatics.

…sooo anyway, Now Alive Arthas goes on this tangent of “Turelyon is going to cause a bunch of bad things to happen.” We gotta put em down, but at the same time Elune is like “haha, taste my void berries!” annnnnd that’ the pre patch for the void and light expansion.

Built on a lie that SL would launch early, so plyers went out and massively bought it. However, after the sales records came in they then stated that it would be months before SL would actually launch cause it was not ready yet that lead to players asking for refunds, which Blizzard tried to not even give at first . Do you really believe that after years of producing expansion they did not know how much more time they were going to need before they could release SL? Or, was it more likely of them just trying to bump up sale numbers for investors after having such a dismal sales records from the last expansion?

Breaking a sales record does not always means the item your pushing out is good. It just means you still have enough customers around to buy up your product.
