Itâs not hard to account for outliers. Very basic concept.
FFXIV viewership has never been up there. Even on expac releases. Because people donât typically watch Twitch for FFXIV. Twitch viewership means nothing for game population either. There are tons of people that watch their favorite streamer play games but never play those games themselves.
MMOs in general are just boring AF to watch.

no for real every new MMO show the opposite , new world and lost ark live and die by content creators
There are people that do that but itâs not the majority. The most popular section on Twitch is Just Chatting. Followed by all the other IRL sections. People barely are there anymore to even watch games. The only time anything comes close is when it has a tournament of some kind going on and then the numbers quickly go back.
Most are there for their favorites. Which is why those streamers have the most. The biggest streamers like XQC stopped even playing the games they were known for.

I think you underestimate this phenomen , specially for streamers like Asmongold and others , who are MMO streamers , XQC is a different type of streamer .
Asmongold viewers watch him in high numbers no matter what he plays. They are currently watching him play Elden Ring. Itâs not the game, itâs the streamer. You heavily underestimate that. Streaming has become a form of entertainment and about games less and less.

Assuming this is typed up during the Race to World first given the date, of course WoW is gonna have higher viewer ship than its competitor because the content is new and mythic is out.
First of all, Your are comparing FFXIV where its new content has been out for four months and is already finished to WoW where its just released new raid content recently and normally WoW RWFâs have more viewers, especially when a guild is on the last boss. Is that a fair comparison?
Second of all, Its never a good game for viewers, its a good game though but boring to watch. When I watched Rich Campbell did the last story quest in Shadowbringers, I rarely seen him on the game live other than for his Subathon, He came back for Endwalker and finished it and I havenât seen him play the game live yet after finishing Endwalker.
maybe in the early years I would agree but at this point in time I will hard disagree.
I would love to see the game get better but at the same time, the company and the devs are unwilling to improve the game and make the game better and they still think the game is best in the market yet the current state of the game is at its worst its ever been.
if the game still reigns supreme than I expect the game to be good, not the other way around.

I have been telling wow players this for years. Yet a certain bunch comes over to our forums from ffxiv and tell people here that wow is dead, wow is dying, ffxiv took all the wow players, their servers are better, yada yada yada.
Must suck to be them since wow has always done a whole lot better and will continue to do so.
Finding out that a new expansion, server lag, constant server queue, lousy stories, small zones, some peculiar player base that are extremely annoying, more bots than wow, more gold sellers than wow, makes them leave.
I have nothing against Yoshi P. I like the guy, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING can beat WoW.
People who listen to certain âyoutube influencersâ who used to support wow, and the streamers who make stuff up like they do, are naive at best.
depends from every streamers , i still think lot of people play what their streamer play , in every new game Asmongold start to play , his viewers send him massive resources , like New world and now Lost Ark , lot of people .

There are some but if you watch chat, most do not. And will talk about not knowing the game or not having the money for the game or sometimes not even liking the game and roasting the streamer for playing it. Then there are hate watchers that watch just to do nothing but troll.
Again some playing doesnât mean all play and the numbers on Twitch donât support games being the most popular thing by far. And definitely havenât backed the highest selling games versus the most watched games.
Elden Ring is currently the highest selling game but is in fourth place on Twitch. Behind Just Chatting and GTA (because of RP). Then there is League because of LCS. WoW itself is 7th because of RWF. But will go back down after. Always happens.
