It took almost 4 months for Blizzard to explain Island Expeditions

Should help. I tried to get into these. It was too many kicks since I, silly I know., was trying to complete these. Your new pug friend items collectors though…Kick! you go.

Now the question is too little too late? I have comfortable AP levels for my needs, I am even exalted all horde and this char is missing jsut 1 exalted that I jsut don’t care about really.

In short…side stuff like this clearly not needed. Got this far without it, and the game seems to say its all good.

Originally they made it sound like it would be a real pvp.
why isn’t island expedition real people vs eachother and you loot pets and stuff on the fly as opposed to a weird bag and no loot at the end.

We… well I appreciate the feedback, even if it didn’t come at the most opportune time.

You mean like simming azerite traits because all of them only list “a chance” on activation? 20% chance? 60%?! 83.453234353%!? What exactly!?

Glad they nailed their goal of making gearing easier and more straightforward for players.

And the speed train is catered to yet again. Forget those possibly interesting side quests (if there are any), or special hidden enemies. Just zerg thru everything with the ‘right’ meta and you get more loot! Oh joy how I love being shoehorned into limited options.

Being ‘mysterious’ is fine for solo content - I can’t see this ever working in group content with random groups. It doesn’t even make sense this would work, totally fails to account for human nature.

If you really want to understand human nature, take a pair of two year olds and place them in a crib with just one toy. That is human nature in a nutshell.

Blizzard create a race and then get blindsided when people treat it as a race. I don’t even…

I saw a thread last week where they were quoted as saying they thought it was a great addition to the game having the rewards a secret for people to “discover”.

Maybe not so much?

I don’t know if blizzard really thinks all that much of its audience. Everything recently they push as “popular” content seems to be extremely low effort content like expeditions and warfronts with absurd rewards attached them.

For all their vaunted “ai” in practice expeditions are just aoe grinds. Worse if you have a bit of skill it isnt hard to tag massive amounts of mobs drop them on the enemy team drop threat then watch the the enemy team grinds azerite for you.

I might be jaded but the low drop rates with hidden loot mechanics just seems like another way to stretch out shallow content even further.

I’m slightly confused by the use of the term ‘cosmetic rewards’. Will we still need to target specific mobs for pets and mounts, or are they included in this change?

I mean… isn’t that what Beta is for?

Y’all should waited on BFA to be honest. I would have been fine waiting an extra 6 months for you to get the things we told you were busted in the Beta right and fixed.

Are you going to address how 100% of the problems with the system were brought up in Alpha and Beta?

Why do you even call it testing if nothing every gets changed?

its not fun one bit.

Is the change going to let us do island quests or visit vendors without messing up our team?

This has been Blizzard’s M.O. after WotLK. New Dev’s come in what to change WoW to their great idea. Confusion among players why change the greatest game ever.( At WotLK before dungeon finder) That is why 12 million to less than 2 million players. They kill what players love. Skill tree’s, flying, classes kill to 3 spec’s that do not feel like their class , god the pvp this and last xpac. If players like it you do not kill it. Your sweet it.

Ok so from someone that does tons of island every week in all levels of difficulty this hopefully won’t kill the fun. Doing islands finding the keys or anti-venom is challenging sometimes. Then targeting specific Rares / mobs for specific pets etc was fun. Now I’m worried we’ll get those who say who cares just get all the azerite and be done with it. I use islands as a good way to level alts as well and get azerite but also have fun trying out a new class / spec etc. Sometimes it’s fun just to grab 1/2 the island and everyone AOE them down just to see how high you can get your dps lol. I guess what I’m saying is I love doing islands more than mythic + this time around so don’t discount it as just scenarios people do to just get azerite…

It is a shame that the change seems to be geared at removing the exploration part and just more focused on finishing ASAP.

sometimes it feels like the devs are throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, with very little foresight filters

Desperation and lack of direction from the devs who made the game great can do that. Really curious to see how many people on the Warcraft team are legit veterans of the game’s heyday.
