Are you an expert at your character yet?
(There’s 8760 hours in a year)
My /played is 595d, 13h
So, 14,293 hours.
But at level 60, I’ve only had 114d, 9h
So, only 2,745 hours
I’m not at expert at Shadowlands but I’m definitely an expert paladin?
But are you having fun? That’s all that matters.

I don’t feel like having another reason to be depressed today so I will not be checking my /played on all of my characters.

not if the field is changing, you’re not.
Really sad to me that some people can play for that long and still not know how to play their class
When did you start playing?
iirc that rule of thumb only applies if you spend all of that time practicing to get better

Yes, this is important. It’s very easy to put hours in if you aren’t actively attempting to improve.
The 10,000 hour rule is a generalisation, not really a fact.
Practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.
If you are repeating the wrong thing or incorrect technique etc you are just reinforcing a bad habit, not actually improving.
At WoW? Yeah.
At any given character? Nah. I think the highest one floats around 300-some days.
I can’t imagine playing the exact same character every expansions for that long. Gross.
That 300-Day character of mine is INCREDIBLY frontloaded from when I played this game all day every day for years when I first started.

I’d be right there with you if I hadn’t taken a 5 year break.
I only have 850. That’s only on characters that still exist, mind you. I have a few that I deleted halfway through leveling them as well.
