Imagine that this topic is gonna live for 2 months. Think about what you have done!
you plan a night out with your friends. youve worked hard all week and youre eager to blow off some steam. “Lets go catch a movie” you suggest, they agree.
You all get there, pay for your tickets and some overpriced skittles and a drink. This movie is gonna be good.
You walk down the hallways and get seated, joking with your friends. You open your bag of skittles but he cramped seats and dark room causes you to spill a lot on the floor. it’s okay though because the movie is starting in 5 minutes.
7 minutes go by, nothing is happening. Nobody is worried, its normal, these things take time.
10 more minutes go by. Your friends are starting to meme the movie being late, but its going to be fine, after all you dont know whats happening.
30 more minutes go by, your friends are clearly annoyed. One of them gets up to go to the bathroom and stretch his legs. An attendant comes in and announces “Sorry for the delay folks, our projector is broken right now and were fixing it up. it’ll be ready in 20 minutes”
everyone is frustrated, but at least you have an answer now. It wont be long. Your friends are now passing time on their phones.
15 minutes pass and another attendant announces “Sorry folks this is taking longer than usual. Nobody here can ever remember a time where we needed this long to fix a projector. hang in there. it’ll be ready in 30 minutes.”
Now everyone is just upset. other patrons begin leaving the room. One of your friends suggests you do the same. “Its okay guys theyve had a long time to work on it surely it wont be long now.”
Once again they announce maintenance for their projector is delayed. All of your friends get up to leave. They want a refund.
You “like chill guys for real ”
I haven’t seen a single major release in the history of online gaming, for ANY game or company, where taking time off for launch day itself was not a laughable mistake that you should rightly be mocked for.
youre right. but if you havent noticed, it is now going on midnight for them, 1:30 for me.
it is now screwing people who didnt take off.
It’s a game that I like and that i want to play, its very natural for people to be upset ? I get people are often too vitriolic but acting like being pissed itself is unreasonable is stupid
Just like this all being a game, it’s just a movie. A movie you paid for, dedicated time to it, and was stoked about. When these things don’t work out it’s annoying and frustrating, especially when time was set aside for these things we enjoy. This analogy was great! Thank you!
Your perception with total ignorance: Exactly as you posted
Reality: Nothing like you posted because this is a fallacious as f*** post.
I wish I had a bonus every time I got a call at work from some dumbass customer oversimplifying sh** like you, I’d be retired.
Exactly THIS.
youre right. people start leaving the movie and asking for refunds after an hour delay, sometime sooner
the wow community willingly bends over a counter and accepts 17 hours downtime.
Maybe if a sub cost for 1 day was around 30-40 dollars you would have an argument. Go outside and do something lol
Whoa! Maybe a bit of an over reaction? Perhaps?!
That analogy halfway works if its something like AMC Stubs and you paid monthly, and you were offered a movie ticket in return because to offer you less than a dollar back is not worth anyone’s time. But it really only halfway works because this is not like going to see a movie, sh** comparison unless you only plan to play TBC for 2 hours and then stop and only play again if you reroll.
It seems like people are more upset about people getting upset.
It really is just a forum y’all.
i dont need or want a refund. i want to play the game somewhat close to the time they told me id be able to. i know maintenance and stuff happens, even extended maintenance is fine, but were 17 hours post server shutdown and youre licking their boot.
outta here with that crap
I think it’s understandable that people are annoyed we didn’t get to play today. But some of the crap on these forums is absurd. Apparently, Blizzard is expected to execute these changes with 100% accuracy 100% of the time … even though there isn’t a single organization on the planet that can honestly claim that success rate … like, with anything.
Using hyperbole is a laughable mistake that you should rightly be mocked for.
