It looks like Xal'atath is gone for the expansion

Without the Dark Heart Xal’atath is likely gone for the expansion. Her orchestrations are likely to continue or come back in Midnight only.

Who’s going to be the big bad boss this expansion?

Do we need a big bad?

Maybe some minor bads that don’t involve the end of the world to make the next end of the world threat seem like a big deal?

Where did the dragonflight go? We helped them out and now they disappear

They’ll come back when we have to deal with Iridikron.

That’s two expansions from now, I hope we see them sooner

We don’t do that here. We don’t use common sense

Iridrikon told Vyranoth that she wouldn’t see him again until the Titan’s face their reckoning. So, possibly in The Last Titan or after.

Meh I don’t see them getting involved unless the enemy is world ending scale and nerub’ar isn’t it, and I haven’t looked at all with the rest. That’s the problem when you make god like npcs. You’re always left wondering why they’re not helping. I mean, can’t Jaina just come in with her boat and freeze all the bugs?!

Nah, the expendable foot soldiers will take care of it. Again.

I was wondering why Reno hasn’t appeared in a minute

I think Midnight is going to be a big world ending expansion, that’s supposedly the final confrontation with the Void, so that would also be a good place for them to return. I agree that, at least so far, War Within doesn’t seem to be that so I understand them not coming back now.

He’s in the delves

TWW and DF both seem to be set up expansions for the big conclusions in Midnight and TLT and tbh it’s really a nice change of pace.

I think we will see Xal’atath leading us into Midnight, so probably the 0.3 patch. As for who the big bad is, Iridikron will probably show up.

The expansion is just getting started. The end of that quest line is like the wrath gate. And as Arthas said, this isn’t over.

We’re just getting started boyzzzzzzz

Pretty bold assumption, given she’s about to become the reason for all of Season 1’s M+ affixes.

Just like Khadgar was dead.

The NPCs (Alleria, Anduin, Thrall) seem to think as much. “With Xal’atath gone, blablabla…”. Their dialog ponders if the Radiant Song brought them to Khaz Algar only to fight that one battle, which is a very strange thing to ponder unless they’re really thinking Xal’atath bailed for a while.

That whole quest felt weird to me, like we just rushed to foil whatever Xal was doing with Beledar—which nobody explained, by the way—and then first thing you know, everyone’s celebrating “victory”, you’re on a cliff with Thrall and Anduin bonding, and you get a [The War Within] ‘thanks for playing’ achievement like you just beat the xpac.

That quest would have felt better paced after the raid, imo.

But they said the dragons aren’t here :<
