Vanish after vanish after vanish after vanish. Free Shadow Dance for a few seconds every time they come out of stealth. 20 seconds of straight CC as well as unhealable damage. Do you guys at Blizz HQ ever just stop and take a step back and say, hey Rogues don’t need a 7 second pally bubble? Rogues don’t need 4 vanishes along with an amazing MS and dots that kill you while they just run? I am just blown away every season over my 20 years of playing on what the class has become
Yep. It started back in Vanilla when hunters were the anti-rogue. Blizzard lessened the area flares could cover, then made vanish remove hunters mark. Shortly after that, they introduced cloak of shadows which everone refers to as “cloak of skill.”
Blizzard has continued this practice over the years of allowing rogues to not only be near garaunteed to always get the first hit in but also be able to reset any fight at anytime if they arent winning, effectively allowing them to never suffer any consequences for bad decisions. This is why I never pay any respect to anyone who is called a “good rogue” or a “r1 rogue” because there are no “good rogues”, there are only people that cant play well without every advantage the game offers being available in a literal gimmick class.
No where in any game should a class be able to control a fight to that extent, regardless of the decisions they make, but here we are.
Big kek at that.
Whole gaggle of rogues gonna be in here shortly talking about how they have no cc left after the recent change, and they do zero damage, and die in 1 stun.
skill issues
Mirror Mirror on the Wall I now summon Lazarus to this thread he will slay them all
Up until this expansion they also had increased melee range. Surprised Blizz realized how bonkers and lowkey broken this was, although they did it for PvE reasons primarily I think
Also having access to duel and bomb simultaneously
Receiving the Veil of Midnight talent because I guess Evasion, Feint, and Vanishes weren’t enough to deal with melee for some reason
2 Charges of Shadowstep (best gap closer in game) on an extremely short CD, even shorter when you realize that rogue keeps you locked down around half the time anyway, therefore not needing to even use it
It really is crazy when you think about all of the small things they have and how they add up making them such a cancer to play against
roll mage or rogue
complain super hard when you arent s tier in everything
become s teir in everything
keep complaining
First of all, stealth doesn’t even work right now. LOL you must not pvp. Also, any dot will expose a rogue in 1.5 seconds now. They don’t have an absorb for when they re-stealth. Only with a TALENT … AND UPON VANISHING with a 1 minute cooldown. If you can’t click a rogue, press an instant dot, and just keep him in sight, it’s on you. For God’s sake rogue Sprint doesn’t even break or resist roots or snares anymore either, and it’s on a 1 minute cooldown. They also don’t have Marked For Death. You just dont have cells past the stem of your neck obviously. This is the easiest expansion EVER to try and pressure a rogue, and you’re doubling down, with the DOWNPLAY of how nerfed they are? And you say garbage like four vanishes, when it’s TWO. If one of those two is not used offensively, they drop. LMAO don’t ever log in again. If you do though, I’ll tell you what, you can line up behind those other 3 guys that just needed to learn something. I’ll record it.
they throw darts at a wall for rogues with the most absurd and busted abilities to give them. like in Dflight with cloak being a bubble (LMFAOOO)
I miss the good ol’ days when rogues would just die to nothing, vanish and get taken out instantly and die, now they have kill potential everytime you’re off stun DR lmaooo
Remember Red Buff guys?
Remember Burst of Speed guys?
Wild times…
This is an insane take.
I think that rogue does have a WILD toolkit and that the spec isn’t half as hard as most rogue mains make it out to be, but rogue absolutely has a very real skill cap and potential for skill expression.
The difference between whazz, some other r1 rogue, some high glad rogue, some generic glad andy, and some one time glad rogue are lightyears apart.
Again, rogue is far from the rocket science that rogue mains tend to pretend it is, but it’s a lot harder than people think it is.
/played. Thats it.
No shot.
Rogues are like the Teemo of Azeroth, and that’s not cool.

effectively allowing them to never suffer any consequences for bad decisions
Vanilla, tbc, and wrath rogues would beg to differ. Rogue madness started in Cata really since it was the first xpac which made them overly powerful in all categories. MoP had a fairly good presentation of the spec being strong in some areas, but it was quickly offset by every class being OP in its own way. Since then, rogues have always been consistently good or broken either by design or inconsistent tunings.

This is why I never pay any respect to anyone who is called a “good rogue” or a “r1 rogue” because there are no “good rogues”, there are only people that cant play well without every advantage the game offers being available in a literal gimmick class.
I think you’re just extremely biased against the class’s fantasy. By definition, rogues are supposed to be control freaks with lots of evasive tools. They’re weaknesses have been the lack of sustained dmg mitigation & healing along with anti-stealth mechanics. There have always been good rogues and great rogues since the past 2 decades. Everyone brought different skillsets to their game. You would have seldom seen 1 rogue play identically to another rogue playing the same comp in a lot of the expansions prior to BFA I think.
